"Believing that God Is"

Key Points:

* Jude has encouraged God's people to earnestly contend for the faith which the saints of old had. In doing so, he is encouraging us to look at out God in a different way.
* The Bible says that those who come to God must believe that he is and that he rewards those who diligently seek him. What does it mean to believe that "GOD IS"?
* We find the answer to this question in many places in the scripture. To believe that God is mean to believe in who he is and in his Almighty power.
* To believe that God is I must believe that he alone made heaven and earth and that without him nothing exists.
* I must believe that he is Almighty and able to do much more then you or I can imagine.
* I must believe that even though challenges com he is able to see me through.
God told Abraham that he was his refuge and exceeding great reward.
* We can not serve God if we do not believe in who he is. We do not just believe that he is God, but we believe in all that he is and is able to do.
* The faith that the saints of old had caused them to see God and his mighty power at the same time and that is what kept them following him. They knew that God existed and (as he told Abraham) he was Almighty.
* So, follow God with this hope knowing that he can do the impossible.
* Abraham judged God as faithful because nothing was too hard for him and so must we.
