"Our Journeyy of Faith"

Key Points:

* The Bible declares that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. This is describing our faith as a journey. To complete our journey and understand how to obey God in it, we must remember that we are Pilgrims and strangers in this world and this world is not our home. Therefore, we look for the place where God and his promises are.
* The elders obtained a good report (from God) through their faith. How did they do this? They obeyed God in what he commanded them to do and where he commanded them to go.
* When we look at Abraham, Noah, Moses, and all the great men of God they all had one thing in common. They believed God and were willing to follow his leadership and guidance.
* God told Noah to build an Ark so he spent years preparing the Ark according to the instructions that God gave him. Others laughed and mocked him but he obeyed God.
* Abraham went into a strange land when God told him to and he trusted that God was going to fulfill his promise of giving him an inheritance even though Abraham had no children at this time,.
* I could go on, but what we see here is that these men received what God promised because they believed him and followed him.
* Following God does not mean going through certain motions, but it means doing exactly what he commands us to do. Noah was told to build the Ark, but God also gave him the instructions on how to build it. Noah built what God told him to and how God told him to do it. This was Noah's journey of faith.
* God imputed righteousness unto Abraham because of his faith in God. His faith in God made him righteous. So, it is with us today if we believe God as Abraham and Noah did and obey God as they did, our faith (Journey of Faith) will make us righteous before God also.
