Description: If there is one thing that our world has always desperately needed but seldom has, it is peace. Our world lacks peace in every area of life; families, nations, even within our own selves, we lack peace. Our world is fractured, and nowhere is that more apparent than in our relationship with God. Isaiah makes a sweet promise: when the Savior comes, He will be the PRINCE of peace. He will administer peace to every dimension of our badly fractured lives. He will bring us a peace that overcomes every hostility, even the hostility we carry toward ourselves. How do we obtain this peace? By looking to Jesus, the Son of God, in faith. If we do, His unconquerable peace will take hold in us and through us.
December 7, 1914:
"At the first light of dawn on Christmas Day, some German soldiers emerged from their trenches and approached the Allied lines across no-man’s-land, calling out “Merry Christmas” in their enemies’ native tongues. At first, the Allied soldiers feared it was a trick, but seeing the Germans unarmed they climbed out of their trenches and shook hands with the enemy soldiers. The men exchanged presents of plum puddings and sang carols and songs. Some Germans lit Christmas trees around their trenches, and there was even a documented case of soldiers from opposing sides playing a good-natured game of soccer. (History.com)
I. Jesus is the Prince of Peace because He comes to BRING US peace
Prince: Royal official, administrator - similar to a cabinet member or governing official. One who carries out or administers the policies and benefits of the King.

Peace (Hebrew - Shalom): wholeness or completeness, a state of harmony that happens as a result of being aligned with with God. It describes the presence of health and well-being for people and for places either personally or politically. A state of peace or shalom is described in Scripture as the perfect state of being that Jesus' redemption is meant to bring about.
II. Jesus comes to bring peace by making things RIGHT
III. The peace of Christ TRANSFORMS every dimension of life
Jesus came to restore peace in every area of live, including:
1. Peace ABOVE us
When we find peace in Christ we have peace with God
2. Peace AMONG us
New Testament authors rely heavily on the noun εἰρήνη (eirēnē, “peace”) but do so with various nuances. Peace occurs not only in interpersonal relationships, but also in ethnic and political relationships. (Lexham Theological Wordbook)
When we find peace in Christ we have peace with one another
Peace AROUND us
The empire of grace (and peace) will forever expand. If we will live by faith in him now, accepting his weakness as our strength and his folly as our wisdom, we will be there to enjoy his triumph, forever ascending, forever enlarging, forever accelerating, forever intensifying.” (Ray Ortlund)
4. Peace WITHIN us
When we find peace in Christ, we have peace with ourselves!
IV. The peace of Christ is UNCONQUERABLE
ONE BIG THING: Experience and live in the unconquerable peace of Christ!
