Is Jesus really God? Is there evidence that the claim is actually the truth?
The eyewitnesses, forensic evidence, and miraculous prophecies prove this final point.
Prophecy
Isaiah was a prophet from 739-681 BC.
The virgin birth was more than a miracle, it was a statement. A bridge is built with God providing the genetics miraculously for the child of Mary to truly be God’s Son.
“…and will call him Immanuel.” Immanuel means “God with us” - the true identity of Jesus.
This child will be connected to Galilee and is described with the same descriptor used for God - a great light.
Isaiah describes Him with titles fit only for God Himself (Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace).
Isaiah describes John going before Him and then describes Him as “the glory of the Lord”.
He introduces Him as “God” and “Sovereign Lord” even as He is described as Shepherd.
Forensic Evidence
Gabriel the angel says that Jesus will be called “Son of the Most High." He says Jesus will sit on David’s throne and that His kingdom is never-ending. He describes Jesus as the “Son of God” and notes that Jesus will be preceded and heralded by a priest.
Gabriel uses the same title as that of Isaiah, Immanuel.
Elizabeth and Zechariah declare that the child is God.
Eyewitnesses
The angels declare, “He is the Messiah, the Lord.”
When He was dedicated at the temple eight days after He was born, two more eyewitnesses declared it.

Anna
The wise men, a sect of leaders who connected science and religion, trace back to Daniel 550 years before Christ.
The Magi continued Daniel’s work, with Daniel prophesying the coming of the Messiah in Daniel 9.
Magi also were revered and installed kings in all great ancient empires. Thus, their question to Herod was insulting.
Herod wasn’t even Jewish. It was a legitimate threat. But it was what the magi did, not said, that sets Jesus apart from other kings - they worshipped Him.
Thus, the mystery in the manger is no mystery. He is the Great I Am.
