Pastor Jonathan explained that the Communion Table is the Greatest Table due to the shifts of focus that it creates. After reading through the following passage, discuss these points as a group.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 (NIV)
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

From the Temple to the Table.
The hub of religious activity was previously centered on the temple, which was destroyed in 70 AD. The Table shifts our focus to the people. The attention that was once on religion (rules), is now shifted to relationships. From places to faces!

From Exclusive to Inclusive.
Jesus includes those that religion kicks out! He came to build a bigger Table, not a higher fence.
What does this mean to you?

All are Welcome.
Jesus came to set The Table for the entire world. Who are we to refuse anyone? It is the mission of Jesus followers to help everyone find their place at The Table.
