Annual Church Elections
Our church elections are coming up this next week. At this time, we elect board members, committees, and department heads. We will have a short perfunctory business meeting to open the process after service on December 13. New this year, we will have expanded voting hours, on Tuesday morning, December 15, and Wednesday night, December 16, and the next Sunday morning, December 20. Voting will close after service on December 20. To vote, you must be a member of Manteno Nazarene Church, be 15 years old, and vote in person. Go to https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UOGs6_VNa2Q1VOGYFAv3wUeW6-3E7LgP/view?usp=sharing if you would like to see short bios of our Church Board candidates.

Technology Campaign
At Manteno Church of the Nazarene, we take seriously our call to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 29:19). To better equip ourselves for this mission, we are bettering our church internet and streaming abilities. We have reached our goal! Thank you to everyone who has been praying and giving. Thank you also to the people doing the actual updating. Internet has been updated all over the building. Our streaming gear has been ordered and we are patiently? waiting to crawl up the queue to get our equipment.
Total Investment $19,600
Total Raised ($20,658) (In Cash & Equipment)
Total Remaining Need $0

Card Shower for McGuires
Sadly for us, Pastor Tim and Sharon will be leaving us to move to Newark Ohio at the end of the year. Pastor Tim has accepted a position to be a campus pastor at Newark Nazarene. As they are preparing for this transition, let's shower them with love in the form of cards and prayers. There will be a bin in the lobby for cards or you can mail them to the church: PO Box 698, Manteno IL 60950.

Christmas Cards
In lieu of our traditional Christmas card bulletin board, we are doing something a little different this year. Send a family snapshot or write a little Christmas message to jlyle@mantenonazarene.org or 913.233.6288. The notes and pictures will be displayed at our online and in-person services. Say Merry Christmas to your church family a little differently this year.

Knowing You're With Us

Show us a star to follow
On a starless night
Bring us choirs of angels that tell us you are the light
Cause we’re coming to the season
That moves us to remember

Bring us smiles on faces from neighbors and friends
And laughter that contagious
Bring us closer again
We share one purpose
in the season we’ll remember

And we won’t forget that baby
Or the sacrifice you made
We won’t forget the weight our sins placed upon his head
And we’ll thank you
For your mercy
It’s a gift to us each day
In Christmas time
Remember to live
Knowing you’re with us

Knowing you’re With us
Knowing you’re with us
Knowing you’re with us

Show us a star to follow
On a starless night
Bring us choirs of angels that tell us you are the light
Cause we’re coming
To the season
That moves us to remember

Bring us smiles on faces from neighbors and friends
And laughter that contagious
Bring us closer again

We won’t forget the weight our sins placed upon his head
And we’ll thank you for your mercy

Knowing you’re with us

Angels We Have Heard On High (Gloria)

Verse 1
Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing o'er the plains
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains

Chorus
Gloria
In excelsis Deo
Gloria
In excelsis Deo

Verse 2
Shepherds why this jubilee
Why your joyous strains prolong
What the gladsome tidings be
Which inspire your heav'nly song

Verse 3
Come to Bethlehem and see
Christ whose birth the angels sing
Come adore on bended knee
Christ the Lord the newborn King

Verse 4
See Him in a manger laid
Whom the choirs of angels praise
Mary Joseph lend your aid
While our hearts in love we raise

The First Noel

Verse 1
The first Noel the angel did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter's night that was so deep

Chorus
Noel Noel Noel Noel
Born is the King of Israel

Verse 2
They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the east beyond them far
And to the earth it gave great light
And so it continued both day and night

Verse 3
And by the light of that same star
Three wise men came from country far
To seek for a king was their intent
And to follow the star wherever it went

Verse 4
This star drew nigh to the northwest
O'er Bethlehem it took its rest
And there it did both stop and stay
Right over the place where Jesus lay

Verse 5
Then entered in those wise men three
Full rev'rently upon the knee
And offered there in His presence
Their gold and myrrh and frankincense
