Pivot | Pulling off a Pivot | November 22-28
One thing we can always count on is change. The year 2020 isn’t over yet, and even if no more crazy, weird things happen, it’s still a year that will go down in the history books as incredibly disruptive to the status quo. And in times like these, if there is one thing we need to learn, it’s the art of the PIVOT. You see it in the game of basketball. A player is moving in a certain direction, stops, and pivots another way. Life requires pivots as well. In this series, we are going to look at some people in the Book of Acts who had to make that decision, how they pivoted and what we can learn about making our own pivots from them. God will use every kind of circumstance in our lives for good if we are willing to pivot from our natural instincts and move toward God’s purpose. When our plans get derailed, our dreams shipwrecked, our life gets turned upside down, or a door get slammed shut, how are we to respond? Do we dig in our heels and try harder? Do we follow our emotions and give in to what’s overwhelming? Do we give up and quit? Or do we make a pivot?
