More Than a Healing

Today we continue our look at John's Gospel and explore Chapter 11. This is a profound story of Jesus raising someone from the grave. It is a story about what we think we need and what we really need.

We need more than a healing.
What we think we need
This chapter begins with what Mary and Martha think they need. They need a healing. They need to keep their brother alive.

What do you think you need right now?
What are we trying to keep alive?
Mary and Martha were trying to keep their brother alive.
The Pharisees and the Priests were trying to keep Israel and the Temple alive.

What are you trying to keep alive?
We need more than we think
Things are worse than we think, so we need more than we think we do.
Jesus is more
What we need is Jesus. He is more, more than a healer. More than what we think we need.
What we need is Jesus
There are lots of things that we might think we need right now. There are lots of things that we might be trying to keep alive. But all we really need is Jesus.
As our life groups gather this week, we have attached our reference verse and some questions to prompt a deeper discussion and search into this week's topic.
