Welcome to all who are worshiping with us at the Dewey Community church this morning. May we all be grateful to God for the reminder that, for his children, worship is essential and not non-essential.

This Sunday's sermon will be available later this week at www.deweychurch.org/listen.

If you are not already receiving DCC emails but would like to be, contact the church office at office@deweychurch.org.
Seeing What Jesus Saw: A Wise Answer
Mark 12:28-34

Jesus offers us two commands around which we should center our lives. The interaction between a Scribe and Jesus points us to 2 observations regarding God’s commands and Jesus’ ‘Creed.’
I. The commands of God Rightly Understood.

A. A Common Misconception: The commandments were given by God as a Means of Salvation.

B. The Correct Interpretation: The commandments were given by God as a Response to Salvation.
II. The commands of God Properly Prioritized.

A. Love God!

B. Love Others!
Conclusion: Jesus saw that the scribe answered wisely. In his answer Jesus saw…

1. …a person Courageous enough to Think for himself.

2. …a person who understood that God delights in Obedience and loves those he Created.

3. ...a person who was Almost a Christ-follower.
