We have authority over demon spirits, we do not have authority over our fellowmen or their wills.
We miss it a lot of times in thinking that we do.

· We have authority over demons
· We can control them as far as our lives or our family’s lives are concerned
· We can’t always control them when other people are concerned, because that persons will comes into play.

Inward Witness
· Demon
· Cancer
· Not demon possessed (spirit, soul & body)
o You can have a demon in your body without being possessed by a demon.
· Devil is not all-knowing or Omniscient
· Can’t cast out a devil if the person wants it to stay.

FREE WILL PREVAILS

Walk away if a person wants to live a certain way you can’t change that.
· Chose to live in sin they can
· Chose to be they can be
o But as long as they don’t want to be free, neither Jesus nor anybody else can set them free.
· Can’t exercise authority over the devil in somebody else’s life
· You have authority over your own life and your own family


You don’t just exercise spiritual authority on behalf of other people per se;
1) You’ve got to have the manifestation of the Spirit of God. That’s why many are failing.
2) Some are trying to deal with spirits without the
3)Word of knowledge
a. The supernatural revelation by the Holy Ghost of certain facts in the mind of God.
b. The Word of Knowledge gives us the revelation of facts that are now or that have been
i. It is NOT the gift of Knowledge
ii. There is no such thing as a spiritual gift of knowledge
Examples of the Gift of the Word of Knowledge from the NEW TESTAMENT: The Samaritan woman at the well.
Jesus operated in the word of knowledge in dealing with the woman at the well in Samaria. Jesus asked the Samaritan woman to 'give him drink.' She retorted by saying, why would you, a Jew ask me for a drink of water when Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. Jesus answered her by saying,
John 4:10 (NKJV)10 Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."
John 4:13-14 (NKJV13 Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,
14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."
The woman asked him for some of His water that she should not thirst again.

Then Jesus said,
John 4:16-19 (NKJV)
16 Jesus said to her, "Go, call your husband, and come here."
17 The woman answered and said, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You have well said, 'I have no husband,'
18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly."
19 The woman said to Him, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.


The woman was taken aback. Jesus had received revelation of the woman's past and present lifestyle - she was living
in sin.
Jesus used the gift of the word of knowledge to bring this woman to salvation.
4)Discerning of spirits
a. The discerning of spirits gives supernatural insight into the spirit world. "To discern" means to perceive by seeing or hearing. Therefore, the discerning of spirits is the same as seeing or hearing in the realm of the spirits.
b. The Gift of Discerning of Spirits is more limited in range than the other revelation gifts (word of knowledge or word of wisdom) because it is limited to a single class of objects - spirits.
c. The discerning of spirits has to do with an entire class of spirits:
· Good spirits (discerning the similitude of God, the risen Christ, the Holy Spirit, or angelic beings/angelic activity),
· Bad spirits (devils, demons, Satan himself), or
· human spirits (good and evil tendencies).
· Familiar spirits" are included in this class of spirits. God talks about these spirits in the Old Testament where he forbids the people of God to have anything to do with them. Familiar spirits are familiar with people and they pass on information about one person to another.
· Familiar spirits, I believe, are used by psychics and spiritualists.

5) Or any unction of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 21:10-11 (NKJV)
10 And as we stayed many days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.
11 When he had come to us, he took Paul's belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, "Thus says the Holy Spirit, 'So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.' "
· The Holy Spirit revealed something through Agabus.
· When any revelation is given by the UNCTION of the Holy Spirit, it is always a
o “Word of Wisdom”
o “Word of Knowledge”
o Discerning of spirits
Because these are the only three gifts of revelation. No others are listed in the Word of God
Look at the example of the girl possessed with a spirit of divination
a) She followed Paul and Silas around for many days testifying for them
Acts 16:18 (NKJV)
18 And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her." And he came out that very hour.
b) Why didn’t they do something right away?
a. They had to wait for the manifestation of the Spirit
b. The discerning of spirits
You see, you can run the devil away from you or your house anytime. If a person is on your premises, you also have authority over him.
But when you get away from where your domain is, the evil spirits have a right to be there, because Satan is the god of this world!
That’s the reason Paul had to wait many days to deliver the demon-possessed girl. He didn’t command that spirit to leave her the first day she began following him. He waited, and when the right time came, he spoke to that spirit, and it came out of her.
Some people DO NOT WANT TO BE DELIVERED
· We know from the Word that we have spiritual authority, but we must depend upon the Holy Spirit to help us in ministering authority. We can’t do it by ourselves.
· If the devil attacks me, I have authority over him, because I have authority over my own life
I also can control situations as long as people are in my presence.
· Eat spicy food
· Seizures
· Allergies

DO IT FOR YOURSELF NOT BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE DID IT

You’ll only defeat the devil when you’ve got a foundation of God’s Word and you act upon it.
1 Peter 5:9 (NKJV)
9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

STAY HEALED
That’s why people need to be taught the Word of God and their rights and privileges as believers. Then they can exercise authority for themselves over the devil, diseases, and circumstances.

Ephesians 1:3 (NKJV)
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

This says He “hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings,” meaning it’s already done.
· You already have all spiritual blessings.
o So, asking God or waiting on Him to bless you is counterproductive.
And yet the average Christian starts from that position. If they’re sick in their bodies, instead of starting from “by His stripes, I was healed” (1 Pet. 2:24) or
· “I have the same power that raised Jesus from the dead living in me” (Eph. 1:19-20),
· they’ll take the doctor’s report or the pain in their bodies and say,
o “I’m sick. God, will You heal me?”
· They start moving toward victory instead of coming from victory!

If you are fighting to get yourself or a family member healed instead of fighting because you/they are healed
· What’s the difference?
o Instead of defending our healing and just releasing what Jesus has already provided.
· We are trying to get Him to do something!
If you didn’t understand this, then I can guarantee you, this is one of the main reasons you aren’t receiving from God.
· You need to get a revelation of this.
o Jesus has already provided everything you will ever need. You’re blessed with all spiritual blessings—all of them!

· The key to understanding these things is through the revelation of understanding Spirit, Soul & Body.
· God is a Spirit (John 4:24), and He moves in the spiritual realm.
· Whether or not we see a physical manifestation of what He has done in the spiritual realm is dependent upon what we believe and how we act, not on what He has done.
· It’s not up to the Lord to heal us; He’s already healed us (1 Pet. 2:24).
o But He gave His miraculous power to us to release.

c) God has already forgiven you.
d) He’s already healed you.
e) He’s already commanded His blessing upon you and your finances.
f) He’s already given you love, joy, and peace.
You don’t need God to respond to you; you need to learn to respond to God! It’s easier to defend something you already have than to go get something you don’t have.
Faith doesn’t move God. He doesn’t respond to what we do “in faith” and then move.
· By Grace God has already provided everything.
LOOK! The Lord does not look at our…
· Praying
· Confessing
· Begging
· Fasting
· And Agreeing with others, nor all the other things we do to add up to enough to make Him move!
It’s not like we doo any or all of these things and then once enough pressure is applied God’s power kicks in and works.
· THE LORD DOESN’T RESPOND TO YOUR FAITH!
Our faith, if it’s a true faith, is simply a response to what He’s already done.
· God—by grace—has already healed everybody.
Peter said, “Such as I have give I thee” (Acts 3:6).
When you understand grace that God has already done everything, you’ll become bold and authoritative.

You can literally command the power of God to come into manifestation because you aren’t commanding God Himself to go and do something.
· You are commanding what He has already done to manifest in the physical realm.
Faith then, is a POSITIVE RESPONSE to what God has already done for us and appropriates it.
· Faith reaches over into the spiritual realm and draws what God has already supplied, out into the physical realm. If you understand this, it’ll revolutionize your life!

CASTING OUT DEMONS

Healing is different than the casting out of a devil and the bible is quite clear on this.
If a person’s physical conditions don’t respond to prayer and the laying on of hands it could be because there is an evil spirit involved.

Oppression is not Possession
The best way to get something out is to never let it in.
**Use the right precautions** It’s not us doing, it’s what Jesus has already done
How do you know id a demon is present?
a)Word of Knowledge
b) Discerning of spirits

· We’ve got to depend on the Spirit of God to know when demons are present and to know how to deal with them.

· We’re helpless without both the Spirit and the Word.

Don’t just be a Word person without the Spirit, and don’t just be a Spirit person without the Word.

Many try to act on the Word of God without the Spirit of God. You’ve got to have both of them. The Spirit and the Word agree.
Go as much by what He doesn’t say as what He does
Resist the Devil
We realize that certain trials in our lives are the work of the enemy, and we cry out to God to rebuke him and alter circumstances for us.
However, God’s Word tells us to rebuke the enemy ourselves.
James 4:7 (NKJV)
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
This verse instructs us to do two things at the same time.

a) We have to submit to God
b) Resist the devil.
We can’t truly submit to God unless we resist the devil, and we can’t truly resist the devil unless we are submitted to God. These must be done simultaneously.
The word “resist” means to actively fight against.
· This isn’t a passive word. We have to have a violent resolve to take advantage of the kingdom of God (see my note at Matthew 11:12). The devil loves passiveness.
