We have been through the names of Jehovah God.

These are the last two and are very similar in their meaning as you will see.

Jehovah-Eloheka

The Lord Your God

Jehovah-Elohay

The Lord My God
So we see in these three scriptures that God is telling the nation of Israel that He is their God.

He explained in verse 2 that “I am the Lord your God”

So here God is telling Israel the relationship He has with them.

He chose them.
In verse 5 He states

“I the Lord your God”

Here God is identifying Himself as the only God Israel should worship as we see in the previous verses.
In looking at the statement “The Lord Your God”

This involves someone else other than yourself, telling you who they are to you.

However, someone telling you who they are to you and you accepting it are two different things.

Even though God told them

Who He was,

He delivered from Egypt,

They knew who He was,

But they had a hard time accepting who He was on many occasions.
So just like us today,

We can know who God is,

We can see His creation,

We can see His power,

We can see what He has done for others.
However again,

Until we accept Him as our God,

We will not listen to Him when He says I am

Jehovah-Eloheka

The Lord Your God!
The next name

Jehovah Elohay-The Lord My God

Has a different meaning in that—calling Him my God makes it personal.
So we see this reference here as Zechariah describes who is coming.

He is showing God is a personal God by the statement “My God”
When Jesus was on the cross He referred to God the Father in Matthew 27:46
Jesus also referred to God the Father as My God after His resurrection and talking with Mary.
The disciple Thomas:

Who has been referred to as doubting Thomas referred to Jesus as my God when he physically saw Jesus after the resurrection.
The Apostle Paul used the term my God on multiple occasions and in this verse in Philippians.
We have seen all the names of our God—Jehovah God over the last several weeks.

We have seen how the scriptures describe Him

Describing Him as:

Jehovah

The Creator

Sovereign

Our Provider

Our Banner

Our Healer

Our Peace

Our Righteousness

Our Sanctifier

Lord of Hosts

The Lord Is Present

Our Lord Most High

Our Shepherd

Our Maker

Our God

These last two gets it down to a real personal perspective.

Jehovah-Eloheka

And

Jehovah-Elohay
The Lord Your God and The Lord My God!
We can know about all 16 names of Jehovah God.

And these things are important to know,

However,

Until He becomes the personal Jehovah-God,

In the sense of being the Lord Your God,

And you can truly say He is the Lord My God!

None of the other names, have as much significance.
