APPLICATION QUESTIONS:
1. The text of Acts 4:32-5:11 reveals the importance of unity, love, and care within the early church. Read the following texts and discuss the principles they illustrate and then consider how they are exemplified in our church fellowship and in your own lives. Psalm 133:1-3; Luke 3:11; John 13:34-35, 17:21-23; Romans 12:13, 15:27; Ephesians 4:4-6. How can we improve in this vital area of church fellowship?

2. Our sermon text today illustrates that God is concerned about the use of our financial resources for Kingdom service. Read the following texts and discuss the principles they establish regarding money and wealth. What kind of heart or attitude are we called to cultivate regarding this topic? Deuteronomy 8:18; Proverbs 3:9-10, 23:4-6; Ecclesiastes 5:10; Matthew 6:24; Luke 18:22-25; 1 Timothy 6:10,17-18; Hebrews 13:5.
3. Discuss in your group the “sin” of Ananias and Sapphira, and why you believe their judgment was so severe. What lessons do we learn from this account and how should this impact our attitude and heart today? Are we guilty today of taking God too lightly?
4. Satan attempted to use persecution from outside to harm the early church, and when that was not successful, he turned his attention inward, and raised up threats from within the church itself. How does Scripture describe the work of Satan, and how are we to defend ourselves against his assault? Read the following texts as you respond: Matthew 16:23; John 8:44; 2 Corinthians 11:14; Ephesians 6:10-18; 2 Thessalonians 3:3; 1 Timothy 3:7; 1 Peter 5:8-9.
5. Reflect upon the whole of Sunday’s worship. What aspect impacted or encouraged you the most and why is this so?
