1. Submission takes humility
2. Obedience to serve God
3. Reverence for God

“Within this Christian vision of marriage, here's what it means to fall in love. It is to look at another person and get a glimpse of what God is creating, and to say, "I see who God is making you, and it excites me! I want to be part of that. I want to partner with you and God in the journey you are taking to his throne.
And when we get there, I will look at your magnificence and say, 'I always knew you could be like this. I got glimpses of it on earth, but now look at you!”
― Timothy Keller, The Meaning of Marriage

“Whether we are husband or wife, we are not to live for ourselves but for the other. And that is the hardest yet single most important function of being a husband or a wife in marriage."
- Tim Keller
If we wish our God given role was different, suppress it, or reject God’s design, we completely miss the joy God intends for you to experience in your marriage.
To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.”

Reflection
1) Our love and submission is a direct reflection of Jesus
2) Our motivation to love and submit is because of Jesus example
3) We must first submit and love Jesus if we will ever act this way towards our spouse.
4) Our love and submission advances the Kingdom. Starting in our own home.
5) Our love to our Wife and submission to our Husband is glorying and pleasing to God.
