APPLICATION QUESTIONS:
1. What are some of the identities you have heard ascribed to Jesus? Why are even the highest human accolades insufficient for Jesus?
1. What are some of the identities you have heard ascribed to Jesus? Why are even the highest human accolades insufficient for Jesus?
2. Reflect upon your own life for a moment. Have you ever been tempted or prone to view Jesus as “Amazon Prime”, “Match.com”, “Suggestion Box”, or “Vacation Planner”, etc. ? Why is it so easy to fall into this trap?
3. Read John 6:68-69, Romans 10:9-13, Philippians 2:9-11. Why is one’s response to the question “Who do you say I am?” so urgent and critical?
4. Consider the significance of the terms “Christ”, “Son”, and “Living God” in verse 16. How do these titles/definitions summarize both the divine mission and divine origin of Jesus? If Jesus were anything or anybody less, could He be our Sovereign Lord?
5. What is a single take-away for you and how will your life be changed by today’s sermon?
