Being Right Isn’t Always Right
Romans 15:1-6

Is being right or being recognized as being right the most important thing in our relationships?

5 Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. 2 Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification. 3 For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.” 4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. 5 Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, 6 so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:1-6 NASB

Being right isn’t always the most important thing to consider:
Vs 1-2 Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. 2 Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit but in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you looking to the interests of the others. Philippians 2:3-4

Jesus Chose Goodness over Self Promotion
Vs 3: For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.”

The Only Way: Anchor Your Mind in Scripture
Vs 4: For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Vs 5a: How The Church is Meant to Be. Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted and humble in spirit, not returning evil for evil or insult for insult but giving a blessing instead for you were called for this very purpose that you might inherit a blessing. I Peter 3:8-9

Vs 5c: What Really Matters Most? …so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
