Two Ways to Live (Ephesians 4:17-24)
There are two basic approaches to life. Self-centred or Christ-centred; Sinful nature controlled, or Holy Spirit controlled. Futility or Fullness. Darkness or Light. Alienated from God, or fully belonging to His family. Paul is urging us in this passage to make a decisive and final break with the past, with the sinful, self-centred, futile, dark and lonely way of living, and embrace fully the Christ centred, ever-renewing, re-created new life that Jesus offers and that His victory at the Cross and in the Resurrection secures.

The Problem: It all starts in the mind. Belief determines behaviours.
The Solution: Learn Christ.
The path to transformation in life is not through doing more, but in resting in what Christ has already done and living in the light of His work.

You never learn Christ by merely hearing men, you must hear Christ himself.... You must regard the various sayings of Christ, recorded in this Book, not merely as things written in the Bible, but as the very words of the living Christ spoken afresh to you, each time you read them, just as though they had never been uttered before....We learn Him by being with Him.
