TUESDAY: MAY 15

Reflect:
- Think about the last time you were angry and what caused it. How can you slow down to listen the next time you feel angry?
- What impurities of character are getting in the way of you truly accepting God’s word to you?
Pray: Father, help me to slow down, to be patient, to listen to others, so my speech and actions reflect Christ. Amen.

WEDNESDAY: MAY 16
Read: James 1:22-24
Reflect:
- In general, how well do you listen to others? How do you respond to advice from others?
- It’s often difficult to listen deeply to people from outside our “bubble” of personal experience. Who might God be calling you to listen to more deeply? How can you take that first step to listen?
Pray: God of Wisdom, give me humility to recognize my need to hear your wisdom through others. Give me courage to act on that wisdom. Amen.

- What actions in your life don’t line up with your beliefs? How might those misaligned areas be perceived by non-Christians?
- Which are you more drawn to: social compassion or personal purity? How can you keep the two connected in your own life?
Pray: Loving God, align my actions with my belief in Christ. Help me to be an example to others through personal purity and compassion. Amen.
