The will of God is not about WHAT you do, but about WHO you will become.

God is not rescuing us so we can escape the world by going to heaven.God is rescuing us so we can escape death and cooperate with God in the work of redeeming the world.

Works Contract (false): God made humans to follow the rules. The rules have been broken by sin and somebody has to be punished.

Covenant of Vocation (true): God made humanity in His image to reflect God’s love into the world. Humanity has sinned by worshipping as God that which is not God and now reflect a broken image into the world. Humanity needs to be transformed back into God’s image-bearing creatures.
