5 PRINCIPLES TO BECOMING LIKE CHRIST
1. SIMPLIFY MY LIFE
- Hebrews 12.1
Two Areas That We Need To Let Go Of...
a) WEIGHTS: Anything that hinders us from carrying out our calling. Something non-essential to our mission which consumes our time and energy that could actually be better used if directed towards advancing God's kingdom. While weights can seem good, they actually hinder the progress we are trying to make in our race that Christ has called us to run.
b) BESETTING SINS: A reoccurring pattern of sin or reoccurring choice to disobey the Lord.

The Bible teaches that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Jesus. Baptism allows a believer to communicate to the world their new commitment to Christ. At Painesville Assembly, we encourage believers to be baptized in water. We do this because: Jesus, as the Son of God, set a great example for us to follow when he was personally baptized (Matthew 3.16), Jesus commanded us to be baptized (Matthew 28.19), Water baptism symbolizes the brand new life that Jesus gives (Romans 6.4).
