ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Worship Service Registration

Services on site have resumed, and we are so excited to be back with you! Please go to hittheriver.com , under the events tab, and register for the service you would like to attend. We are offering 2 service times at 9:45 a.m., and 11:15 a.m. If you would rather watch online, both services will be streaming live at facebook.com/hittheriver and on our website at HitTheRiver.com.

RiverBank Kids 9:45 a.m. service resuming next week

We have reopened children’s ministry for K-5 students during the 9:45 a.m. service (ONLY). While we would love to welcome all kids, we are working around several limitations at this time: COVID-19 concern, limited volunteers, and our lower level at the church being very much under construction due to the flood in the spring. Things will look a bit different. Here is what to expect:

· Registration will be required, and space will be limited. Register your family each week at hittheriver.com
· Your family will check-in together for service.
· At check-in, kids will be given preprinted name tags and parent tags. Kids will also have their temperature checked.
· Kids will remain with their family until the middle of worship (music) and will be dismissed to the lobby where they will be greeted by the RiverBank Kids team.
· Kids will be required to wear a mask and will be socially distanced in the classroom. We will be using what was the toddler room until the elementary space is made available downstairs.
· Kids will enjoy a socially distanced lesson, craft and game. If time and weather permit, we will take the kids outside (behind the building) to play (masks may be removed for outdoor play).
· We will Zoom with families at home during the teaching portion of our time together. The Zoom link will be in your weekly RBKids email. Also, curriculum links will still be emailed to families every Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m., so that kids can enjoy the same lesson content that we will be offering at church.

How to Study the Bible beginning September 16th from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. (four weeks) Taught by Lawrence McAlister

Devotionals help us know God. Seminary level exegesis can also help us know God. For those who would like something in between, we'll discuss a simple method of Bible study intended to bring about personal transformation. We'll talk about and practice this flexible method for personal Bible study that can be adapted to your level of interest. After these four sessions, we'll be able to find deeper truths in the text and apply them to our lives.

Stand Firm and Defend: A Journey in Apologetics beginning September 20th from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. (four weeks) Taught by Dan Benton

Apologetics is the study of defending our faith. It’s more relevant today than ever before that we be “…ready to make a defense to everyone who ask you to give an answer for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15). This practical class will equip you to gain confidence in talking to others about Jesus.

River Youth Campout - September 18th

We are inviting students in 6th-12th grade to a campout at The River Church from September 18th-19th. We will be having a bonfire, scavenger hunt, and watching a movie before heading to sleep in our tents. There is no cost but we want students to register at HitTheRiver.com in order to get enough food. Please contact Zach@HitTheRiver.com if you have any questions.

Tween Girls (6th-8th Grade) Study

The River Youth is inviting all tween girls (6th-8th grade) to join us to learn more about friendship. We will be studying the book "We Saved You a Seat" by Lisa Jo Baker. The book teaches how to expand your current relationships with friends along with your friendship with Jesus Christ. We will meet during the 9:45 a.m. service each Sunday starting on September 20th at the church. While the weather is nice we will meet outside socially distanced/ or with masks. If you are interested, please email Brittany McGaffin at brittany.mcgaffin@gmail.com and she will order a book for you. Books are $12.99.

Cultivating Prayer - Family

Remember, kids seem to inherently understand prayer. So, listen to how children pray. It is usually simple and yet beautifully honest. And, if prayer is strange or you feel awkward praying with your children, be honest. Let them know that prayer is important but kind of intimidating to you and you want to learn with them.
“Glorious Day”

[Verse 1]
I was buried beneath my shame, Who could carry that kind of weight
It was my tomb, Till I met You
I was breathing but not alive, All my failures I tried to hide
It was my tomb Till I met You

[Chorus]
You called my name, And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness, Into Your glorious day
You called my name, And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness, Into Your glorious day

[Verse 2]
Now Your mercy has saved my soul, Now Your freedom is all I know
The old made new, Jesus, when I met You

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
I needed rescue, My sin was heavy
But chains break at the weight of Your glory
I needed shelter, I was an orphan
Now You call me a citizen of heaven
When I was broken, You were my healing
Your love is the air that I'm breathing
I have a future, My eyes are open

Cause when You called my name
I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness, Into Your glorious day
You called my name, And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness, Into Your glorious day

“Can’t Live Without You”

[Verse 1]
In the beginning, before the start
Was there an aching inside Your heart?
Was the love that You felt too great to just keep to Yourself?
You called it good, You called us human
Made in Your image, made for communion
When You breathed into dust, You put more than wind in our lungs

[Chorus]
I can't live without You, I can't live without You
The closer I get, the closer I want to be
I can't live without You, I can't live without You
The deeper I go, the deeper You're calling me

[Verse 2]
There in the garden, walking with You
No space between us, nothing to prove
But I started dying when I started hiding my face
You knew the story, You had a plan
You knew the fallout was not the end
And death was made silent when You came up out of that grave

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
You're bringing us back to the garden
You're bringing us back to Your heart again (repeat)

[Chorus]

“Yes and Amen”

[Verse 1]
Father of kindness You have poured out grace
You brought me out of darkness, You have filled me with peace
Giver of mercy You're my help in time of need
Lord I can't help but sing

[Chorus]
Faithful, You are
Faithful, forever You will be
Faithful, You are
All Your promises are yes and amen
All Your promises are yes and amen

[Verse 2]
Beautiful Saviour You have brought me near
You pulled me from the ashes, You have broken every curse
Blessed Redeemer You have set this captive free
Lord I can't help but sing

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
I will rest in Your promises,
My confidence
Is Your faithfulness

[Chorus]

“Hallelujah for the Cross”

[Verse 1]
I would be hopeless without Your goodness
I would be desperate without Your love
Slave to the darkness if it wasn't for the cross

[Verse 2]
You have won me with Your kindness
Chased me down when I was lost
Where would I be if it wasn’t for the cross?

[Chorus]
Hallelujah, thank You, Jesus
I was a prisoner, now I'm not
With Your blood, You bought my freedom
Hallelujah for the cross

[Verse 3]
All my shame was met with mercy
Now Your mercy will be my song
And oh, the glory, oh, the power of the cross

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
And by Your stripes, I'm healed
And by Your death, I live
The power of sin is overcome
It is finished, it is done

[Chorus]
