2. There is a Person who pulls us out of the pit.
3. There are other people who will put their trust in God because of our pit experience.
4. When we read Psalm 40 through the lens of the gospel, we understand that every Christian has been delivered from the pit of destruction by God’s grace in Jesus Christ.
5. We are to respond by putting our trust in the Lord alone.
6. We are to respond by delightful obedience to the Lord.
7. We are to respond by testifying of what God has done for us.
8. We are to know that God’s mercy preserves us even as our sin and evil seek to overtake us.
9. We are to trust the Lord to deliver us and deal with those who are against us.
10. We are to seek the Lord with joy, humility, and faith.
