CONVERSATION STARTERS
Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our Monday lives. These prompts have been designed to help Community Groups grow in their relationship with God, with one another, and with their neighbors. Please know that these questions are meant to be a resource to you. You do not have to follow them verbatim or get through them all. We trust you to know your group and to ask the questions based on your group needs.

1) What stood out to you from the sermon? Feel free to re-read this short parable as a refresher.

2) The sermon identified the ways contempt can easily bubble up in our lives. Definition of contempt:Treating others with disrespect and mocking them with sarcasm or condescension. Is there a person/people in your life you speak (or write or text) this way about?

3) What does this behavior reveal to you about your heart?

4) Read 1 Corinthians 13:1-3. How does this passage teach that we can be “right” and still be dead wrong? What must we ultimately strive for, and what would this look like in our disagreements with others?

Pray as a group that God would give you humility to see your own sin, humility to confess it, and humility to trust God to make you right.

Prayer Requests

As a staff it is a privilege to pray for our congregation. Social distance does not change that! If you are in need of prayer click the link to fill out an online prayer request.

Title: Changing Together
Scripture: Romans 12:9-21
Speaker: Gabe Coyle, GabeC@ChristCommunityKC.org
“Conventional physiology suggests that you get progressively more fatigued over the course of a run, as muscle fibers fail and fuel stores are emptied. But then, when the end is in sight, you speed up. Clearly your muscles were capable of going faster in the preceding miles; so why didn’t they?” - Alex Hutchinson, Endure
>> We Can Change:
Week 1: Only love can change you.
Week 2: You cannot change any part of you without every part of you.
Week 3: Your change must include a “we” not just a “me.”
Week 4: Your change needs us to fight for “us.”
>> Your deepest change happens in the hardest moments.
#1 Feel the love more genuinely
#2 Know joy more transcendently
#3 See the Spirit do the impossible
