By calling his recipients to LEAN IN, Peter is acknowledging the reality of what they were going through and encouraging them to name their suffering, to know who they are, to know that they are not alone, to realize that they follow Jesus who also suffered significantly.
"LEAN IN" is Peter's exhortation for followers of Jesus to be comfortable with the uncomfortable.
BIG IDEA:
The clock is ticking, keep your eyes on the goal and give it all you've got.
How best do we live the Christian life with the end in sight?

- Be alert...
>>> Living well is our expression of obedience.
- Love earnestly: Genuine with people around us.
- Be hospitable without complaining:
Open your doors to those who need hospitality.
- Serve one another: Use your God-given gifts to serve the body of Christ.
- Looking up and living well results in God getting all the glory (credit).
