Pastor Joseph Salajan Bio

Pastor Joe was born in the little town of Crasna (Romania). Ever since he was a child, he has been fascinated by the unique connection between pastors and their special book, the Bible. When at the age of 7 he received his first little Bible from a brave pastor who was able to procure it for him in spite of the interdictions of the communist regime, he felt special and decided one day he would become a pastor.

After serving as a Pastor for 8 years in Romania, in 2013 he immigrated to the USA. He currently serves as Lead Pastor of Plantation Seventh-day Adventist Church. Along with his wonderful wife Anda and their gorgeous daughter Alessandra, he enjoys proclaiming God’s grace and ministering to his fellows.

Pastor Joe is currently enrolled in a doctoral Program (DMin in Preaching) with Andrews University. His hobbies are languages, music, and poetry.

Jesus did not become a victim of His enemy. He gave Himself as a sacrifice for the victims of His enemy and that's how He became a Victor!

Can A Victim Win?

History is about war: victors, vanquished and victims. We suffer from some sort of triumphalism: I have to win and brag about it…! Don’t want to be vanquished…

A victim is powerless:out-powered by the powerful. He/she never had a chance to win.

Can a victor look like a victim? Can a victim be a victor in disguise?

Revelation 5:5-6
Here we have a stop frame/motion/action and flashback effect. The storyline is put on hold and a relevant story from the past is brought in… The storyline of chapter 5 describes what happened on the day of Pentecost. Pentecost could happen because of what happened on the day of Passover. This seems to be the lowest point of victimness… but is it?
There is an Old Testament story about a ram…This ram by its horns prefigures Christ, the lamb of sacrifice. The lamb as if slain… has even horns. In the Bible horns represent power;7 means complete… Jesus had complete/divine authority! The ram’s greatest power is in the horns. Is He a Victim?! Looks like…!
When Jesus was laid in the grave, Satan triumphed. For a moment, he believed he won the victory! He believed he out-powered his powerless victim… On the screen of his sick imagination he wrote: Game over! Then, after 3 days he woke up: his “victim” was rising from the grave… Jesus Christ trampled death and the victim became a victor!
There are three consecutive Psalms that create a remarkable picture: 22, 23 and 24.

In Psalm 22:1, Jesus cries, "My God! My God! Why have you forsaken me?
In Psalm 23:4, He says: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me…
But then something extraordinary is happening in Psalm 24: Christ’s returning to heaven after the crossto validate his victory (see last chapter in by E. White).
There are three consecutive psalms that create a remarkable picture: 22, 23 and 24. In
Psalm 22:1, Jesus cries, "My God! My God! Why have you forsaken me? In Psalm 23:4, He
says: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You

heaven after the cross to validate his victory (see last chapter in Desire of Ages, by E. White).
Jesus Christ, the Victor, marches followed by a host of "According to Matthew 27, at Jesus resurrection many saints were resurrected. They are the trophies: the proof that He has vanquished death, not only for Himself, but also for those who believe in Him. In Him, the victims have become victors…
An angelic army also surrounds him. Remember Revelation 4? Jesus Christ is absent; He is on earth to obtain victory through sacrifice… The angelic hosts aren’t there either; they were sent down to escort Jesus Christ the Victor back to his Father's house… to the throne.
The angels and the redeemed sing praises and acclaim the Victor!
The sentinel angels, who are beyond the gates, ask: Who is this King of glory? It is not that they don’t know who the King is, but it is their joy to hear the answer: The Lord strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle (v. 8). The same scenario is repeated: Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in (v. 9).Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory (v. 10).
The gates of the city of God open wide… Those around the throne are ready to welcome the king and eager to celebrate his victory! But Jesus with his hand stops them. Not yet! He walks up to His Father. He shows him his wounded head, his pierced side, his bruised feet; He lifts up His hands that bear the print of nails (as if slain)... Then He points to the tokens of His victory, the trophies (the first fruits of the wave sheaf), those resurrected with him that represent the great multitude that will come out of the tomb at Jesus Christ’s second coming.
Then Jesus says: My Father, " So there, in the presence of the representatives of the un-fallen worlds, the Father declares that Satan is vanquished. Christ’s toiling and struggling ones on earth are accepted in the Beloved. Where He is. His church will also be! And in that moment the Father does something touching: He puts his arms around His Son and hugs Him! That’s when Jesus takes the scroll…
The 4 living creatures and the 24 elders fall down before the Lamb and burst forth with joy: 9You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us (men) to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,10And have made us (them) kings and priests to our God; And we (they) shall reign on the earth.
Then the angels join in…12And finally every creature... the entire universe sings:13
