I. THE BLACK HORSE OF FAMINE (Vs 5-6)

Compare with Matthew 24:7b “There will be famines.”

1. If America is damaged economically or has been attacked by another nation or terrorism (Nuclear, Chemical, Biological, or EMP bomb), what impact would that have on the world. We would be in a survival mode. The world would run short of food. America’s money and agricultural aide would be cut off from the rest of the world. (1986 Chernobyl is a ghost town today)

2. In 2003 the Northeast power grid went down due to a software bug and 45 million in 8 states and 10 million more in Canada, had no electricity for 2 days. (2011 SW blackout; 12 hours) If an EMP attack occurred in the USA over New York City or LA, America would be stopped in her tracks. Let’s say someone hacked into the electric grid and we were without electricity for 6months in the USA. What impact would that have on us and the world?

3. We are already seeing signs of famine now, even in the USA. Presently, out of about 180 countries in the world, only about four produce more food than they actually consume. They are the USA, Canada, France, and Argentina. As the population of the world continues to increase, famine continues to rise in under-developed or oppressed countries.

4. The United Nations claims that 30 million people in Africa are at risk of dying from famine. The North American grain reserves are at their lowest levels in decades. Massive changes in weather patterns are also contributing to a shortage of food. Property development is turning farm fields into shopping malls and parking lots. Overgrazing, deforestation, and poor farming methods are ruining the land and crops. By 2025, it is estimated that one million child deaths per month will come from starvation.

5. Worldwide 767 million people make less than $1.90 a day. 815 million people do not have enough food to eat on any given day. Nearly ½ of all deaths in children under 5 are attributable to malnutrition. That’s 3 million a year.
THE PALE HORSE OF DEATH (Vs 7-8)

Compare with Matthew 24:7c-8 “And pestilence and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

1. The outcome of this war that was started by the anti-christ and his world control is that ¼ of the world’s population is killed by “sword, famine, plague and wild beasts. As of March 1 the world’s population was estimated to be 7.6 billion people. ¼ of that would be 1.9 billion people.

2. When people are starving then disease and even plagues can begin to take root and sweep through the population. In October 1347 a ship arrived at the Sicilian port in Messina. Those who were there to greet the ship were horrified by what they saw. Most of the sailors on board were dead or were gravely ill with the plague. In the next 5 years over 30 million people in Europe (30% of the population) would be dead. Worldwide over 100 million people would die from this terrible plague, which came from rats and the fleas that would be infected by them. It would take 200 years for the world’s population to bounce back from this black plague of death.

3. Today people put their confidence in science and in medicine to protect them. But with the advent of worldwide travel people can travel to any continent in the world within a 24 hour period, diseases and plagues can infect people around the globe before the plague has even been diagnosed.

4. On April 10, 2017 CNN did a report on TV entitled, “Seven reasons why we are at more risk than ever for a global pandemic”: It could take just one cough, one kiss, one touch or even one bug bite to change not only your life, but the lives of everyone around you for months or even years.”

5. Infectious diseases respect no boundaries. According to the World Health Organization. There are little clusters of outbreaks occurring all the time, all over the place. In the last few years we have had to deal with SARS, swine flu, Ebola and Zika. Experts are unanimous in the belief that the next outbreak contender will most likely be a surprise -- and we need to be ready. 83 countries have had outbreaks of the Zika virus, which destroy babies.

6. "We're only as secure in the world as the weakest country," said Jimmy Whitworth, professor of international public health at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. With so many health systems and economies in a fragile state, this means we are far from secure.

7. More people than ever are living in densely populated cities. The number of cities with a population of over 10 million people has almost tripled from 10 to 28 since 1990 to 2014. With 10 of those cities being in Asia and 2 in Africa and 3 in South America. These are locations not known for great sanitation and hygiene. These cities are breeding grounds for a world pandemic.

8. In a nuclear war with NOKO/China pandemics follow; that would impact 22% of the world’s population alone. Then think of the ripple effect of having no food or medical care and an economic meltdown in the world and we can begin to understand how quickly 25% of the world’s population could die.
SPIRITUAL SUMMARY OF THE 4 HORSEMAN OF THE APOCALYPSE

1 The 4 horseman exist to fulfill the plans of God upon a wicked and depraved people who have followed false religions, and the wickedness and depravity of their own ways instead of following God’s law, morality and teachings.

2 Romans 1:18-32 summarizes life on earth for all the generations living since Christ’s ascension to heaven. He makes it very clear that God is not ignoring the sins of humanity but judge’s humanity through His divine process of judgment upon the earth’s inhabitants.

3 When Paul writes this letter to the Roman Christians he refers in chapter 1 verse 18 to “The wrath of God is being revealed against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.” Then he begins to spell out their sins and rebellion in detail. In verse 28-32 he shifts to conclusionary remarks. “Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind; to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless (without common sense), faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.”

4 The seals that are broken represent God’s judgment on the culmination of mankind’s wickedness and rebellion against God’s righteous decrees. But this judgment is based on the principle of “you reap what you sow” being played out in finality.

5 Romans 1:21-28 “For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish heart were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools…Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie…Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts.” Consequential judgment is brought on by mankind.

6 Exodus 13-14 After the plagues that God sent upon Egypt, “Pharaoh still stubbornly refused to let God’s people go, so the Lord sent the death angel into Egypt and killed every first born male in Egypt, both man and animal. The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that he pursued the Israelites…I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so they go into the Red Sea after my people. And I will gain glory through their death.”

7 While the horsemen all come from heaven, the consequences that come from their mission originated from mankind’s choices and refusal to obey God. But this is not “the day of God’s wrath or the Day of the Lord”. The horsemen begin the great tribulation that comes from the culmination of man’s rebellion against God (False Religion, Wars, Famine, Disease, and Death). The church also suffers from the hands of evil men. As it has down through the ages. “To him that overcomes will receive a crown of life.” (Rev. letters)

8 Half the world’s population exists in 5 countries out of 233 countries. China (Communist), India (Hindu), Indonesia (Muslim), USA (Christian) and Brazil (Catholic). Out of the top 10 most populous nations in the world making up 4.5 Billion people, only America is an evangelical nation that stands up for Christ and Christian values and tries to reach the lost for Christ.

9 And America falling fast into spiritual apostasy and betrayal of Christ and his church. Persecution of Christians in the world today is at an all time high. Which leads us next week into the fifth seal being broken; the martyrdom of the saints. Can we understand now how the anti-Christ will easily deceive the world. Without the Holy Spirit who gives spiritual discernment, no one will know who he is led by and what he is up to, until it’s too late.
