Jesus said, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled.” Are you troubled today? “Trust in God, and trust also in me.” If your heart is troubled, you are not alone. There are many troubled hearts in our world today and on the evening before Jesus was crucified, the disciples were troubled. After Jesus shared a meal with the eleven (Judas had already left the room) Jesus told them: “… I am going to prepare a place for you… so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.”
But Thomas was unclear: “No, we don’t know, Lord. We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” So Jesus – truth-teller that He is – clears it up: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me” (excerpts from John 14:1-6). Do you have clarity in your heart today regarding the way to eternal life? Do you have clarity about your own personal salvation? It’s in the cross of Christ and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ that our debt has been paid in full.

“I want to tell people about the meaning of the cross… the real cross of Christ. It’s scarred and blood-stained. His was a rugged cross. With all my heart I want to leave you with the truth. God loves you and is willing to forgive you of all your sins.”
1. Are you clear why God sent His Son to die upon the cross? Refer to the following Scriptures. When did Jesus become more than just a name to you? When did your life connect with the cross of Christ?

2. In the remaining time together with your Life Group, share how you came to faith in Christ. How has the cross of Christ demanded a new lifestyle in you? What changes have you seen since inviting the Lord Jesus into your heart?
