Luke 18:1 (MSG)
1 Jesus told them a story showing that it was necessary for them to pray consistently and never quit.

1.Believing is evidenced by your consistency.

2. If your circumstances can persuade you to quit, we have identified where satan will target you.

Luke 18:2 (MSG)
2 He said, "There was once a judge in some city who never gave God a thought and cared nothing for people.

3. Jesus is about to teach a powerful principles for believers today.

a. what to do when you can’t explain what’s going on

Luke 18:3 (MSG)
3 A widow in that city kept after him: 'My rights are being violated. Protect me!'

4. The widow went to the uncaring judge to protest her ill treatment.

a. sadly today, most church folks BLAME God for their ill treatment

Luke 18:3 (KJV)
3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. ’

avenge - Gk - ekdikeo - to give full justice

a. to restore rights and privileges

b. to exact reimbursement of things stolen with interest

c. to exact restitution of goods, positions or articles

Luke 18:5 (MSG)
4 "He never gave her the time of day. But after this went on and on he said to himself, 'I care nothing what God thinks, even less what people think.

5. The devil has people convinced that this is how God treats us.

a. but this is an UNRIGHTEOUS JUDGE

Luke 18:5 (MSG)
5 But because this widow won't quit badgering me, I'd better do something and see that she gets justice—otherwise I'm going to end up beaten black and blue by her pounding.' "

6. This woman displayed ‘BADGERING FAITH’,

7. She was not going to:

a. quitb. give in / give up

d. take no for an answerc. go home empty handed

8. Notice that this woman’s persistence wore out even an ungodly man.

a. that must be where wives get this idea from.....ha ha ha

9. Understand this unrighteous judge is not God as some have taught.

10. Most people do not even bother pursuing what rightfully belongs to them.

11. Besides, it’s easier for most folks to wrongfully blame God.

Luke 18:6 (MSG)
6 Then the Master said, "Do you hear what that judge, corrupt as he is, is saying?

12. Remember, Jesus is teaching this to help us in our daily walk.

Luke 18:7 (MSG)
7 So what makes you think God won't step in and work justice for his chosen people, who continue to cry out for help? Won't he stick up for them?

13. If truth be told:1) we tend to blame Him more than we

2) cry out for Him to help us

14. The moral of the story:GOD WANTS TO AVENGE YOU !

a. He wants to restore you

b. He wants to reimburse you with interest

c. He wants to restore to you what was stolen from you

15. God wants to work things out on your behalf .

Luke 18:8 (MSG)
8 I assure you, he will. He will not drag his feet. But how much of that kind of persistent faith will the Son of Man find on the earth when he returns?"

16. So while we go through seasons when we:

a. don’t understand what’s going on

b. we question everything and everyone around us

c. we think we have missed God or we are out of His will

d, begin believing God has abandoned us

e. or be reckless enough to believe that the devil is winning

17. Jesus was looking to see if our faith is persistent enough.

Persistent - to continue doing something in spite of difficulty or opposition.

Luke 18:8 (KJV)
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

18. He wants to avenge you speedily.

a. right now, right away, immediately

b. He is looking for faith in you

19. Faith is :

a. believing in something you cannot see

b. and trusting in something that you do not understand

20. Here’s what most church folks are doing.....

Proverbs 6:30-31 (NLT)
Excuses might be found for a thief who steals because he is starving. [31] But if he is caught, he will be fined seven times as much as he stole, even if it means selling everything in his house to pay it back.

21. Church folks know that the thief is the devil.

a. he must pay back 7 times of what he stole

b. but here’s the problem

22. NO ONE IS CRYING OUT : AVENGE ME OH LORD !

23. It’s time to get back into the courtroom of heaven and declare “ Avenge Me Oh God “ !

24. How can you start the recovery process ?

Judges 5:2
Praise ye the Lord for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.

25. God avenged Israel.....WHEN....the people took the first step.

a. your either going to live off of the economy or of off the promises

HE’S WAITING ON SOMEONE TO SAY

RESTORE...AVENGE ME OH LORD !

1) SEEK THE LORD

2) OBEY HIS WILL

3) PUT ACTION O WHAT HE SAID, GIVING OF YOURSELF IN WHATEVER MANNER HE TELLS YOU TO

4) CRY OUT, RESTORE, AVENGE ME OH GOD

5) BE PERSISTENT, DON’T GIVE UP AND EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
