This year Easter falls on a strange date, April 1, April Fool’s Day. That hasn’t happened since 1956 and it wont happen again until 2029. Many of us have played April Fool’s jokes on others, or have had these jokes played on us. But what if history’s worst fooling turned out to be that what we were counting on for salvation didn’t exist? What if Jesus never rose from the dead? In Luke 24:11-12 when the women told the disciples that Jesus was alive they responded with doubt because it sounded like foolishness. But oBut the disciples where not the only ones to doubt, throughout the centuries many Christians have faced this crisis of belief, is it really real, do I have faith or am I just a fool? We see this in the church at Corinth, were some began to doubt the resurrection. So, Paul wrote a letter to assure them that Jesus was indeed alive and believing that He arose from the dead was vital to their faith. So, are we fools to believe that? I mean what if He didn’t? What would it mean if Christ did not arise from the dead? Its here in 1 Corinthians 15 that Paul deals with this question as he reveals four implications if Christ did not rise from the dead. Please be praying for those who are here this weekend who don’t know Jesus or are struggling in their faith.
