Delighting In Doctrine Jesus (Part1) One Person Two Natures

Delighting In Doctrine Jesus (Part1) One Person Two Natures

How is it possible that Jesus has two natures...being both 100% God and 100% human? How can he be 200%? Is that even mathematically possible? And if he's 100% man, how did he not sin? And as 100% God, why would he choose to become 100% man? Why is it important that Jesus is all human and all God? And if that's true (which it is!), what does that mean for you? 2-18-19

JESUS: Part 1 One Person, Two Natures
hey
Jesus is one person with two distinct and separate natures (divine & human), fulfilling three offices (prophet, priest, and king), and involved in four key events: His incarnation and life of obedience, His death which provides for our atonement, His resurrection showing Him to be victorious, and His enthronement at the right hand of the Father.
—Jesus Christ is one Person with two distinct and separate natures, fully divine and yet fully human.
The theological term for this miracle of Christ being fully God and fully man is called the hypostatic union. It simply means the union of Jesus’ two natures together in one man
hey
The Chalcedon Declaration states that the two natures of Christ exist “without confusion, without change, without division, without separation.”
Why Jesus having two natures is so important for us.
1) As God, Jesus’ sacrifice was able to pay for the sins of the whole world.
2) As God, Jesus was able to offer the perfect sacrifice, once for all.
3) As God, Jesus was able to conquer sin and death forever.
4) As a human, Jesus was able to die for our sins.
5) As a human, Jesus was able to become OUR sacrifice.
6) As a human, Jesus is a sympathetic Savior.
