(from 1 Corinthians 12)
1. What are they? UNIQUE SUPERNATURAL ABILITIES.
2. When do we get them? WHEN WE RECEIVE CHRIST.
For we were baptized by one Spirit into one body… and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Now the body is not made up of one part but many.

1 Corinthians 12:13-14, NIV
3. Who gives them to us? GOD VIA THE HOLY SPIRIT.
There are different kinds of gifts… All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, deciding which [gift] each one of us should have.

1 Corinthians 12:4&11, NIV & LB

5. Where do we use them? IN THE CHURCH & THE WORLD.
The Holy Spirit displays God’s power through each of us as a means of helping the entire church…

1 Corinthians 12:7, LB
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth.

Acts 1:8, NIV
6. Why should we use them? BECAUSE EVERYONE WINS.
Now here is what I am trying to say: All of you together are the one body of Christ and each one of you is a separate and necessary part of it.

1 Corinthians 12:27, LB (see 12:21-26)
7. How do we use them? WE’LL FIND OUT NEXT WEEK!
