The Disciplines of a Disciple

Becoming a disciple of Jesus is not joining a religion. It is not a decision to follow a set of rules, orders or traditions. It is not a club or denomination or particular church membership. Becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ is a faith decision to follow Jesus as the Son of God, Savior, and Lord of your life. It is not a religion but a relationship. We must not mistake the disciplines of a disciple with the relationship of a disciple. To grow in the knowledge of who He is and how He has created us to live is discipleship. It is relationship. Our relationship with God is not built on law but love. The disciplines of discipleship are not to be done legalistically but because of love, in love, out of love.
