Welcome to Fellowship of the Parks

Welcome to Fellowship of the Parks

Fellowship of the Parks is a church where everyone can find a family. We are made up of people from all walks of life, who come together to worship God. We have a big heart for adoption and caring for orphans. We are passionate about creating healthy marriages. We believe God’s plan for each person is that they would be adopted into His family through faith and, in turn, they would care for the people around them.

Upside Down: Worry vs. Concern
Big Idea: Move from debilitating worry to deliberate concern.
1. TRUST God to do what only He can.
2. We silence worry when we CONCERN ourselves with the things of God
3. Show COMPASSIONATE concern for others.

___Further Study & Discussion Questions___
Getting to Know You:
1. What is the most recent situation you found yourself worrying about? This could be silly or it could be serious.
Quick Review:
Looking back over your listening guide from this week’s message, were there any particular points or Scripture passages that challenged, confused, or caught your attention? Is there anything you noted down or underlined?
Digging Deeper:
1. This week we learned that we can’t control what God has planned for our life, but we can control our attitude. Worry is a reactive mindset that God does not desire us to live in, while concern is a proactive mindset that can be beneficial.
Read Philippians 4:6-7
• What things do you find yourself worrying about the most? Do you notice a trend? (family, work, anything uncontrollable)
• Why is it so difficult for us to give our worries over to God?
• Have you ever found it beneficial to hold on to your worries?

______________________________Worry
Concern

Now let’s flip our perspective! We know that God does not desire for us to live in a state of worry, but rather He desires for us to trust Him, knowing that He has complete control. This is a daily practice that we must be intentional about, and we will talk about how we can be successful in letting go of worry!
Read 1 Peter 5:6-7 and Proverbs 3:5-6.
• Often times when we worry, we must take time to look back and see that God has never failed in the past. What is one situation where you have seen God take care of something you have worried about?
• How does humility help us to worry less?
• We often need to replace worry with something that is more powerful. What will you actively replace your worry with? (Scripture, prayer, call a friend, serving)
Application:
1. Is your anxiety overwhelming you or are you actively pursuing a careful solution? What is your solution?
