DELIVERANCE MANIFESTATIONS

1 John 14:12 “Whoever practices sinning is OF THE DEVIL, who sinned from the beginning. FOR THIS PURPOSE the Son of Man came into the world that HE MIGHT DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL.”

* Every Christian Pastor preaches the “Gospel of Jesus”, but not the “GOSPEL JESUS PREACHED of HIS KINGDOM POWER”!

1 Peter 5:8 “Be VIGILANT because YOUR ADVERSARY THE DEVIL walks about like a roaring lion seeking TO DEVOUR YOU!”

* Jesus demonstrated and intended for BELIEVERS to minister in DEMONIC DELIVERANCE to set captives free and to DISPLAY THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

Matthew 8:16-17 “When evening had come, they brought to Him many OPPRESSED WITH DEMONS; and Jesus CAST THE EVIL SPIRITS OUT with His Word, and HEALED ALL THAT WERE SICK; that is might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah, the prophet, saying, “Himself took out infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”

Mark 16:15,17 “And Jesus said, ‘Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every one. These signs shall follow them that believe; in My Name they shall CAST OUT DEMONS…”

Matthew 10:7-8 “And as you go, preach saying, “The Kingdom of God is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, CAST OUT DEMONS; freely you have received, now freely give.”

Acts 10:38 “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power; who went about doing good and healing all that were OPPRESSED BY THE DEVIL; for God was with Him.”

· Not every church that DOES CLAIM to function in DEMONIC DELIVERANCE in not necessarily casting evil spirits out of those oppressed.

· Most ministers want to AVOID DEMONIC MANIFESTATIONS and simply don’t take full authority.

· Many will explain this approach by saying, “I don’t allow demons to manifest while I am ministering deliverance.”

· Our response to that belief is: “You have your own different way rather that deliverance as Jesus demonstrated!”

· That’s okay just as long as you don’t criticize those who follow “Jesus’ ministry” of casting out demons publicly.

“ARE WE WANTING VIOLENT MANIFESTATIONS?”

· ABSOLUTELY NOT! Especially for the sake of the person with the demon and anyone else in close proximity!

· Sometimes DRAMATIC MANIFESTATIONs cannot be avoided and JC and his team take necessary action. (Screaming, cursing, violent shaking, etc.)

Acts 19:16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they all fled out of the house NAKED and WOUNDED!”

· NOT ALL DELIVERANCES produce MANIFESTATIONS, most result in mild shaking, coughing, crying, face twitching, etc.

· Physical manifestations are NOT NECESSARY to claim victory in deliverances, the person can simply testify of the SUDDEN RELEASE of the oppressive symptoms.

THE BENEFIT OF MANIFESTATIONS

Acts 19:17-20 “And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks at Ephesus, and fear fell on them all, and the NAME OF THE LORD JESUS WAS MAGNIFIED. And many that believed came, and confessed, and repented of their deeds. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.”

· In the BELIEVERS’ MEETINGS, it is more beneficial for evil spirits to MANIFEST so that everyone WITNESSES and has NO DOUBT of the GENUINENESS of the ministry of DEMONIC DELIVERANCES.

Mark 1:21-28 “And they came in to Capernaum; and straightway on the Sabbath day He entered into the synagogue, and taught. And they were astonished by His doctrine: for He taught them as one with AUTHORITY, and not as the scribes.

And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and HE CRIED OUT WITH A LOUD VOICE saying, “Let us alone; what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God.”

And Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Hold your peace, and come OUT OF HIM.”

And when the unclean spirit had TORN HIM, and CRIED OUT WITH A LOUD VOICE, he came out of the man.

And THEY WERE ALL AMAZED, inasmuch that they questioned themselves, saying, “What is this? What new doctrine is this? FOR WITH AUTHORITY HE COMMANDS EVEN DEMONS, and they DO OBEY HIM.

And immediately His fame spread abroad throughout all the regions round about Galilee.

· NOTICE: Even after Jesus forbid the demon to speak, the evil spirit STILL VIOLENTLY MANIFESTED and SCREAMED LOUDLY before coming out of the man.

· Jesus was FORBIDDING the demon from speaking His identity as the Christ before His time. (Luke 4:41)

· We will not forbid demons from speaking or manifesting because of the VALUE OF THE DEMONSTRATION and the necessity of identifying the HIDDEN STRONG MAN in control.

Luke 8:28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a LOUD VOICE said, “What have I to do with You Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You not to torment me!” For Jesus had commanded the demon to come out of the man. For it often seized the man, and was kept under guard, bound with chains and shackles; and he broke the bonds and was driven BY THE DEMON into the wilderness.

Jesus asked, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion”, because many DEMONS had entered him.

· Witnessing the POWER OF GOD driving out evil spirits was a KEY TO EVANGELISM MINISTRY of Jesus and the early church. I believe this is the evangelism ministry that Jesus wants us to employ now.

Matthew 10:7-8 “And as you go, preach saying, ‘The Kingdom of God is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely you have received, freely give.”

Mark 1:38-39 Jesus said to them, “Let us go into the NEXT TOWNS, that I may preach there also, BECAUSE FOR THIS PURPOSE HAVE I COME FORTH.”
And as He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, AND CASTING OUT DEMONS.”

· In Philips’s ministry, MANY saw the deliverances and THEN CAME TO BELIEVE ON CHRIST.

Acts 8:5-8 “Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and he preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things, which Philip spoke, HEARING and SEEING the miracles, which he did.

FOR UNCLEAN SPIRITS, CRYING OUT IN LOUD VOICES came out of many that were possessed with them and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

"AND THERE WAS GREAT JOY IN THAT CITY.”

· LET’S MAKE IT CRYSTAL CLEAR: We do not try to provoke DEMONIC MANIFESTATIONS for crowd entertainment purposes. Our purposes are in SETTING CAPTIVES FREE!

· Deliverance ministry could invoke and invite being “cursed at, spit on, bit on, or physically wrestling someone”.

· Jesus ministered DELIVERANCES because He came to DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL and He DID IT PUBLICLY, have we brought THE GREAT COMMISSION down to OUR RELIGIOUS LEVEL?

2 Timothy 3:5 “Having a form of godliness, but DENYING ITS POWER. And from such TURN AWAY!”

· Ministries wonder why “WE’RE NOT GETTING THE SAME RESULTS” as the early church did.

1 Thessalonians 1:5 “For OUR GOSPEL did not come to you IN WORD ONLY, but also IN POWER and IN THE HOLY GHOST…”

· DELIVERANCE is an important part of EVANGELISM; there are people who will never accept Jesus without demonstrations of the POWER along with the PREACHING!

1 Corinthians 2:4 “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but IN DEMONSTRATION OF THE SPIRIT AND POWER, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men, but IN THE POWER OF GOD.”

SAD REALITY OF SEEKER FRIENDLY CHURCHES

· Ignoring DEMONIC DELIVERANCE to avoid MANIFESTATIONS to prevent people from being “OUT OF ORDER” during a STRUCTURED SERVICE!

· In Jesus’ ministry, WHO DO YOU THINK caused demons to scream out while He was teaching and ministering among the people?

· IT WAS THE HOLY GHOST WHO CAUSED THE DEMONS TO MANIFEST! Unlike the desire of demons to HIDE IN DARKNESS, the Holy Spirit caused them to EXPOSE THEMSELVES so those oppressed could be made free!

· If ministries really want the RESULTS OF THE EARLY CHURCH, then we must do what Jesus commanded us to do.

Mark 6:12—13 “So they went out and PREACHED that people should repent. And they CAST OUT MANY DEMONS, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.”
