INTRODUCTION
Webster Dictionary defines a leader as “someone who commands authority or influence, who shows the way, guides, directs and governs”. Common misconceived leadership roles are autocratic and dictatorial because they come with glory, power and position of honour. In most cases, they are heartlessly misused to oppress and deny the birth rights of those they are leading. Hence, leadership models that are oriented toward power and control will be problematic if it exists in the church or at home. A Christian servant leader, therefore, is one who is committed to serve God and stand ready to serve and lead others with unconditional and authentic humility devoid of self.

SUMMARY
Jesus Christ is our perfect example because He gave Himself for the church (Eph.5:25). See Jesus’s definition of servant leadership (Matt. 20: 26-28). Jesus’s mission on servant leadership is a paradigm shift connoting an opposite of the common assumption and values on how to climb leadership ladder (Mark 9: 33-35). His concept of the leader as a servant reveals a pattern of leadership that focuses on the needs and growth of those being led, not the needs of those that are leading. It is not about climbing the ladder but serving at the bottom. It is about serving others first in absolute humility (John 3: 12-17; 13:14)
