1. UNDERSTANDS WHY GOD MAKES US RICH. (2 CORINTHIANS 9:11)
SCRIPTURE – 2 Corinthians 9:11“You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”
God did not make us rich to consume more. God makes us rich so that we can make a difference.
SCRIPTURE – 2 Corinthians 9:11“It will result in thanksgiving to God.”
God makes us rich because He wants us to give more.
SCRIPTURE – 2 Corinthians 9:11“You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”

2. IT TAKES A HEART TRANSPLANT. (DEUTERONOMY 15:9-15)
God wants to change us from greedy, selfish takers into grateful, generous givers.
(Deuteronomy 15:9 NIV)SCRIPTURE – Be careful not to harbor this wicked thought: “The seventh year, the year for canceling debts, is near,” so that you do not show ill will toward the needy among your fellow Israelites and give them nothing. They may then appeal to the LORD against you, and you will be found guilty of sin.
God wants to change our grieving heart.
(Deuteronomy 15:10 NIV)SCRIPTURE – Give generously to them and do so without a grieving heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.
God wants to give us a generous heart.
(Deuteronomy 15:14 NIV)SCRIPTURE – Supply them liberally from your flock, your threshing floor and your winepress. Give to them as the LORD your God has blessed you.
God wants us to develop a grateful heart.
(Deuteronomy 15:15 NIV)SCRIPTURE – Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and the LORD your God redeemed you. That is why I give you this command today.The choice is ours – greed or gratitude?

Generosity makes us more like Jesus.
SCRIPTURE – Proverbs 21:26“The greedy always want more, but the godly love to give!”Generosity is the cure for materialism.SCRIPTURE – Matthew 6:24“You cannot serve both God and money.”
Generosity demonstrates our faith.

Generosity reveals our character.Generosity brings God’s blessing.

SCRIPTURE – 2 Corinthians 9:7-8“God loves the one who gives gladly. And God will make it up to you by giving you everything you need and more so that there will not only be enough for your own needs but plenty left over to give joyfully to others.”
Generosity increases our happiness.
SCRIPTURE – Acts 20:35“Jesus said, ‘There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.”
Generosity expands our influence.
SCRIPTURE – Proverbs 11:24“The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy will get smaller and smaller.”
Psalm 112:9“Those who give generously to those in need...will never be forgotten they will have influence and honor.”
Generosity multiplies our money.
SCRIPTURE – Proverbs 11:25“A generous man will prosper; He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” 2 Corinthians 9:11“You will be enriched so that you can give even more generously.”
Generosity brings God’s protection.
SCRIPTURE – Psalm 112:5-6“All goes well for the generous man who conducts his business fairly. Such a man will not be overthrown by evil circumstances. God’s constant care of him will make a deep impression on all who see it”
Generosity will be rewarded in heaven.
SCRIPTURE – 1 Timothy 6:18-19“Use your money to do good...always being ready to share with others whatever God has given you. By doing this you will be storing up real treasure for…in heaven—it is the only safe investment for eternity! And they will be living a fruitful Christian life down here as well.”
