When and where does Life with God begin?

According to the apostle John…
● …the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. 2 John 1:9
● He who has the Son has the life… 1 John 5:12

According to the apostle Paul:
● …the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God…Galatians 2:20
● …For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus sake so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 2 Corinthians 4:11

According to Jesus:
● Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Matthew 3:2
● Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, “Look, here it is! Or, “There it is!” for behold the kingdom of God is in your midst. Luke 17:20-21

The whole and consistent declaration of the New Testament is that Life with God in His Kingdom begins here on earth any time a person begins to live their life in trusting obedience to Jesus.

We have to replace the false narrative that Life with God is something we have to wait until we die to enter into.

You and I now have freedom to live our lives like Jesus lived His.

Life with God here and now means…
● Even in the midst of need, you can find contentment and rest.
● Even in the midst of pain, you can find comfort and hope.
● Even when the storms of life rage around you, you can have peace.
● Even when life takes an unexpected and frightening turn you can rest in confident assurance

Questions to wrestle with:

● Have you ever thought of Christianity as Doing Life with God?
● How does understanding Christianity as Doing Life with God compare with the way you have understood Christianity prior to this point?
● If you are a follower of Jesus, how frequently are you aware you have Life with God?
● What circumstance or situation might you currently be trying to face/handle on your own?
● What is tempting about handling some situations apart from your life with God?
● Have you talked honestly with God about it?
● Have you been or would you be open to letting Jesus speak to you about how to do this part of your life?

There is not a circumstance, past, present or future that Life with God cannot touch or impact in beautiful, redemptive, life giving ways.

You were meant to live your life with God not merely to believe in God and hope you end up in Heaven. You were never meant to live life apart from Him
