Journey to a Good Place
Isaiah 30:15-22

God desires that our journey takes us to a place of blessing and joy. In Isaiah 30:15-22, the prophet Isaiah points us to 2 aspects of the journey that will take us to that destination.

I. The place of blessing and joy is Found in Relationship with God. (vv. 15-19)

II. The place of blessing and joy is Experienced in Responsiveness to God. (vv. 20-22)

Conclusion: 'This is the way; walk in it!'

The Stewardship Committee is meeting to plan the 2020-21 church year budgets. If you would like to make a budget request, please make it in advance of the meeting to Jamie B. or Dave H.

In the Worship Service, Pastor Neal’s message, from Joshua 2, is titled, “To the Rescue!” The time of worship will culminate with the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

The Rose on the piano is placed there in honor of Hampton Jay who was born to Holden and Ginny H. on Wednesday, August 12 at 5:55 pm. Hampton weighted 8lbs 8oz and was 20 inches long. Congratulations, as well, to the grandparents, Roger and Laura H. and to great-grandparents, Dave and Rose B.

Christian Education Updates:
- Sunday School classes will be resuming on Sunday morning, September 6 at 9:30am. Some classes are being relocated to different rooms so stay tuned for further details. Also note, the children’s classes will not be having their customary singing time so they will go directly to their classrooms.

- Wednesday “Connections” children and youth ministries (Kids’ Connection and DewCrew Student Ministries) will not begin meeting, at least until October. Adult Bible Study and Prayer will begin Wednesday, September 9.

Seeing What Jesus Saw is the name of Pastor Neal’s sermon series which will begin on Sunday, Sept 6. For the services, he will be preaching from the English Standard Version of the Bible. The ESV is available here in the Bible App or for download at Google Play (Android) and the App Store (Apple). Inexpensive paperback copies of the ESV will also be made available to those who would like to follow the messages in this translation of the Bible.
