A. Trust In The Lord [Proverbs 3:1-5a]

Wisdom Is Trusting Those Who Love Us and Have Our Best Interests At Heart.

PROVERBS 3:5-8 HAS NO CONCERN FOR OUR COMFORT ZONE

We Trust Jesus Because He Has Our Best Interest At Heart Even When We Do Not See It or Feel It.

B. Trust Is Not Trust Unless It Is Complete [Proverbs 3:5b]

[Proverbs 3:5b] and do not rely on your own understanding;

The Battle Lines of Trusting God (Trusting God vs. Trusting Self)

God gives us REASON To Aid In Our RELATIONSHIP with Him.

Trusting In God is Not Circumstantial or Conditional.

Biblical Example of “What Trusting In God Looks Like” (Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego) [Daniel 3:8-18].

[v.18] “even if He does not rescue us” Illustrates Biblical Trust
- We Must Be Able To Say, "Even if God does not answer in the way I want or expect I am still going to trust him."

DO NOT LET EVIL INFLUENCES OR FEARS DERAIL YOUR TRUST IN GOD.

C. Trust Is Proven In Our Actions and Direction [Proverbs 3:6]

[Proverbs 3:6] think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.

Trusting Jesus Requires Humility

1. Jesus Demonstrated The Trust He Asks From Us
- [Luke 22:42] “Father, if You are willing, take this cup away from Me—nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done.”

2. Jesus Humbled Himself
- [Philippians 2:8] He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death—even to death on a cross.

3. Jesus Made Us To be Dependent
- [Isaiah 55:8-9] 8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways.” This is the Lord’s declaration. 9 “For as heaven is higher than earth, so My ways are higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

Our love for Jesus must move our conduct to act according to His will not our own.

Trust Him Because You Love Him.

If you are having trouble trusting God today, I would simply say, "Love Him More Than That Thing That Has You Torn."
