Welcome to Mission Hills!

Mission Hills is a church family—a family who wants to extend to you the same love, hope, and joy that we have received. We know that we cannot be all things to all people. But we do want to be one thing to all people. We want to be the place where anyone, of any age, of any level of spiritual maturity, of any economic class, of any ethnicity, of any church background—or no church background—can meet God in a way that transforms their life…forever!

If you are a first time guest, we would love to meet you! Stop by the Welcome Center for a free drink at Peakview!

Making Room for Them to Belong

IMagINE

We believe that the people of God should always let their celebration of what God has done stir up anticipation of what He’s doing next. When God led Pastor Craig Smith to Mission Hills just a little over a year ago, it was immediately clear to him that God’s great work in and through Mission Hills over the past 75 years was just laying the foundation for our next great adventure with Him. In order to maximize our ability to build on this foundation for the purpose of transforming lives, period, we are launching a new initiative we are calling Imagine. The goal of Imagine is to raise the necessary resources to extend our ability to reach people for Christ on local, regional and global levels. On the local level, we are planning for a new on-campus venue (for a Sunday “classic” service as well as weekend space for students), an expanded lobby/connection center and the extension of our worship center. On the regional level, we are planning to extend ministry at the Life Center and launch multi-site church plants here in Colorado. On the global level, we are looking to expand one of the critical ministry facilities of our partners in Poland. We will be digging into more details about each of those areas over the next four weeks.

For although we knew God, we became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for a Counterfeit idol.
We had said in our hearts…

I know there is a God and I believe in you but…And that hesitation is serious because it has created a leak in our hearts.
1 // We know but don’t believe that you are glorious,

2 // We know don’t believe that you are worthy of Worship.

3 // We know don’t believe that your all surpassing beauty is satisfying in our hearts.
King Josiah in Chronicles 34-- He tore his robes because of God’s standard.

God created us to worship, so all of us are going to worship something. We don’t have a choice…this is our true DNA..we cannot separate what God has placed deep in our hearts.
The Moment you begin to believe there is something good for you outside of God, you are falling captive to a lie.
“Because the human heart was made to worship someone outside itself, it continually seeks a place to rest. It seeks an object on which to set its hope. We simply must go to something or someone to feel at peace. Scripture teaches that we human beings will ultimately look to God or to something or someone else, be it achievement, relationships, family, status, popularity or even a hobby to make us feel socially
connected, personally significant and emotionally secure. And whatever or whoever we look to to pursue, that will drive
everything else in our lives.”

-- Darrin Patrick, Acts 29 Pastor
If you read the sermon on the mount in Matthew 5-7, you can pull 4 deep idols that Jesus is doing internal surgery on:

He is getting our attention concerning 4 deep dark areas that have the potential to get us to exchange thee God for a god from Romans 1:18-23:
1 // Power
2 // Control
3 // Approval
4 // Comfort
1 // POWER
My life has meaning and I only have worth if I have power, influence and success.

2 // CONTROL
My life has meaning and I only have worth if I have control, self discipline and certainty.
Psalm 143:8

3 // APPROVAL
My life has meaning and I only have worth if I have approval, I am respected and seen by this person or these people.

4 // COMFORT
My life has meaning and I only have worth if I have a pleasure experience, lack of stress, freedom, no accountability, privacy.
Search me O God and know my heart; try me and know my anxieties and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

She is a gifted communicator, whose writing and speaking overflow with colorful pop culture references that connect the dots between the Bible era and modern life. Her style combines sound scriptural exposition with easy-to-relate-to anecdotes and comedic wit.
