4. Actions
The Man of God

i. God had instructed the “man of God” not to do three things. What were they? (1 Kings 13: 9)

a. Eat no _________________

b. Drink no _________________

c. Don’t return by the _________________
ii The context tell us why...
iii. “the man of God” before the King was ... (1 Kings 13: 8-10)

a. _________________, with God, and man, as to his _________________ of action (1 Kings 13: 8)

b. _________________, by the word of God, not man, in his _________________ of action (1 Kings 13: 9)

c. _________________, by God, not man, in his _________________ of action (1 Kings 13:10)
iv. RPC: Application

a. We are not bidden to prove them by their fair speeches and exalted professions. They are to be judged by the _________________. [FLB 322]

b. Proverbs 19:27
C. The old prophet (1 Kings 13: 11-13)

i. “old prophet” (1 Kings 13: 11)

a. Two types of “old”- This prophet stayed when many left the apostasy (2 Chronicles 11:13-16)

ii. “living in Bethel”

b. “Beth-el” is Hebrew for _________________
Two prophets meet (1 Kings 13: 14-19)

i. The man of God is found _________________ under a tree instead of moving (1 Kings 13: 14)

ii. The old prophet _________________ the “man of God” (1 Kings 13:15-19)
Action Steps Ill: Open or Closed?

- _________________ I will be intentional about making my study of the bible more consistent, and allow that study to move me to more obedience.

- _________________ I want to pray that God will make me (again) curious of what new thing He is doing in my life today.

- _________________ Reveal to me Lord what is your will for my life, and help me by the Holy Spirit to start and stay doing that.
