Introduction: Generosity is love in action.

1. My generosity honors God.

2 Corinthians 9:13 – You will be glorifying God through your generous gifts. For your generosity to them will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ.

2. My generosity draws me closer to God.

Deuteronomy 14:23 (TLB) - …The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives.

3. My generosity makes me more like Jesus.

Luke 11:41 (TLB) - Purity is best demonstrated by generosity.

4. My generosity is the cure for my addiction to stuff.

5. My generosity proves my faith.

2 Corinthians 9:13 (Ph) – “…your very giving proves the reality of your faith…”

6. My generosity reveals my true character.

7. My generosity brings God’s blessing.

8. My generosity increases my happiness.

9. My generosity expands my influence.

10. My generosity multiplies my own resources.

11. My generosity brings God’sprotection.

12. My generosity will be rewarded in heaven.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 (TLB) - Tell those who are rich not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which will soon be gone, but their pride and trust should be in the living God who always richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. 18 Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and should give happily to those in need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given them. 19 By doing this they will be storing up real treasure for themselves in heaven—it is the only safe investment for eternity! And they will be living a fruitful Christian life down here as well.
