1 Peter 3:10-15 For “He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit. 11 Let him turn away from evil and do good;Let him seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lordare on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers;
But the face of the Lordis against those who do evil.
SUFFERING FOR RIGHT AND WRONG
13 And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”[c], and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
Isaiah 8:12-13 (KJV)
12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid. 13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
Throughout the Bible GOD says I sanctify them, or He tells them to Sanctify themselves, Sanctify unto the LORD, Sanctify the house, but this is Different.
These are the only 2 places where it says Sanctify the LORD…
How do you really Sanctify the LORD in your heart?
The heart is basically the center of all things.
Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence for out of it springs the issues of life.
If we look at the verses around 1 Peter 3:15 and Isaiah 8:13 they’re telling the people not to fear or be afraid.
Fear has a way of consuming. When you get really scared... it consumes your mind, it can immobilize you if you let it. Your emotions, body, and thoughts are all very involved in the process.
So why would GOD tell us to let Him be our fear and let Him be our dread?
In our Heart needs to be the FEAR of GOD first.
The way fear consumes us should be the way that GOD consumes us.
REALLY?
Jesus Teaches the Fear of God
Luke 12:4-5 “And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!
Does that mean that we’re afraid of Him all the time? Actually, no.
Throughout the BIBLE we see that He said, FEAR not. He said Perfect love casts out fear or throws it. But the balance of the BIBLE is what keeps us straight.
We do need to fear Him.
My children… Fear of punishment sometimes gets them back in line. But I don’t want them to be afraid to come to me. Sometimes they are afraid if they think I’ll get upset but they know I love them so they come anyway because of relationship.
That’s how it’s supposed to be with GOD.
People make a mistake when they live only by One or Two Scriptures when relating to God. We instead need to study the Word and what it says about our relationship with Him and learn from that.
If we truly FEAR Him… We will HONOR HIM. We will recognize How much of our heart HE ask for and is worthy of.
It's easy instead to put god in a corner of our heart.
When we do that, we've reduced Him to a little “g”.
Sanctify the LORD =
Sanctify = Venerate to regard with reverential respect or devotion, to honor with a ritual act of devotion
+To make or declare sacred
Sacred = dedicated or set apart for the worship of a deity

As you dedicate your whole heart to Him your daily life becomes influenced by His thoughts and desires.
Psalm 37:4 Delight = (to be soft or pliable) in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.
As we Sanctify Him in our hearts... we stay humble and willing to listen and change.
It's exciting to know that everything we do can be Driven by Eternity.
If we live every moment dedicated to GOD He can make every moment count.
JESUS said the First commandment was to Love the LORD your GOD with ALL Your heart,
Mark 12:29-31New King James Version (NKJV)
29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’[a] This is the first commandment.[b] 31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’[c] There is no other commandment greater than these.”
I think a lot of people take this commandment with a grain of salt so to speak.
They think well GOD understands that I don't love Him with ALL my heart. I mean I'm trying... I think He understands that. The thing people forget is that this is called the first COMMANDment. It's not called the first SUGGESTment...
If we really love HIM with all our heart it will show in our lifestyles because out of the heart spring the issues of life.
If we don't we should be repenting (asking forgiveness and turning to make change) not thinking oh well... maybe one day, or I'll try a little harder.
The Christian life is REALLY surrender.
Surrender of our plans, ideas, heart, life, love, everything. Our Christian life SHOULD look like us seeking to Keep Him ALWAYS FIRST in every moment.
Everything we do should glorify JESUS.

The sad thing is that we can separate what we say and what's in our heart.
That's why it says SANCTIFY in your Heart. And LOVE the LORD with all your heart.

Isaiah 29:13 Therefore the Lord said: “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,
BE VERY CAREFUL... because we can get to this place. The more you learn about GOD... the more you can say the right things... IT's SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT.
GOD is not honored simply because you know the right answers to BIBLE TRIVIA.
WHERE is your heart.
The end of the verse is important...
The goal is that the FEAR of GOD would come from INSIDE our heart... not from OUTSIDE.
As a parent I'm called to train my children.
Proverbs 22:6 but the older they get the more their outward training needs to meet the inward training of the Holy Spirit.
If you only teach a child or a church member from the outside and there's no training coming from GOD being SANCTIFIED in their hearts they will learn to spit back out the right things without it changing them from the inside.
That's what GOD was saying.
It's supposed to be coming from the INSIDE.
IF YOU'RE Sanctifying GOD in your heart... then everything else that you do needs to come out of that.
What's interesting is that when your heart is set on Him what you do can come out of that.
