“ ….. next step?”
“2 Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation” - I Pet 2:2 (AMP)
· Ons almal ken hierdie skrifgedeelte, maar die klem is op die “grow unto” wat ‘n eis op aksie plaas van my en jou kant af.
· Dit dui ook verder daarop dat “heiligmaking” ‘n voltydse lewensstyl is.
“6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God [all the while] was making it grow and [He] gave the increase.” - I Cor 3:6 (AMP)
As mens gaan kyk na die roeping van die dissipels, het Jesus bloot vir hulle gesê: “Volg my!” Hulle was nog nie bekeerd nie en het ook nie eintlik geweet waaroor dit gaan nie! Maar deur tyd saam met Jesus te spandeer en teenwoordig te wees met Sy wonderwerke en bediening, het hulle begin groei en op die ou einde by die belydenis gekom dat Hy Jesus, die Seun van God was! So hulle het eers BEHOORT, toe het hulle GEGROEI en laastens by BEKERING uitgekom. Nou se dae kom mens eers tot BEKERING, dan is jy veronderstel om te GROEI en aan SEKERE VOORSKRIFTE te voldoen, voordat jy kan BEHOORT! Onthou dat die Heilige Gees nou oortuig van sonde, daarom is bekering so belangrik! Die probleem is altyd by die “GROEI”-fase.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH IS INTENTIONAL, NOT AUTOMATIC!
“15 Rather, let our lives lovingly express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly]. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
16 For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to full maturity, building itself up in love.”- Eph 4:15-16 (AMP)
· God is ‘n progressiewe God, wat hou van voortdurende verandering, vooruitgang en groei!
· Hy wil hê dat ek en jy geestelik groei, dat Sy kerk moet groei, dat Sy koninkryk uitgebrei word!
· As JY as individu geestelik groei, gaan jou gemeente outomaties groei!
“19 The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds' feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!” – Hab 3:19 (AMP)
Die lewe is soos ‘n roltrap in ‘n winkelsentrum. Ongelukkig moet ons as mens oploop teen die roltrap wat afkom, teen die stroom! Dit is bloot omdat ons in ‘n gebroke wêreld lewe. As jy nie vinnig genoeg klim nie, sak jy weer af tot op die grond. Jy word gedwing om aan te hou klim, selfs te hardloop, om uiteindelik bo uit te kom!
YOU MUST KEEP GOING SPIRITUALLY, OTHERWISE YOU WILL SLIDE BACK TO THE LIFE THAT YOU CAME FROM …..
· Jy MOET ‘n VOLGENDE STAP reeds gereed hê vir JOU geestelike groei!
· Die wêreld en omstandighede verander voortdurend, en die stryd gaan nie ophou tot die Here kom nie!
· Jy moet groei en sterk word!
· Jy moet heeltyd vir jouself afvra: “Waarnatoe volgende!”
