Christian Disciplines: Why we should follow the hiddenness in Jesus' life.
Class Description: The Christian Disciplines have been proven to create spiritual transformation for centuries for everyone who follows Jesus. Jesus practiced the classical disciplines and modeled them for his disciples. To be discipled by Jesus is about formation and transformation, not just information.
About Pete Ulvog: Terry and I have only been attending LCC for slightly less than a year although we have been faithfully involved in church life since childhood. I was “retired” from Luminant/TXU/Texas Utilities at Martin Lake after 45 years. For years before, I pondered what I was going to do in “retirement” and I realized that I really loved teaching adult bible classes, which I had done for decades, so….
In 2016, I started at LeTourneau, majoring in Scripture and Theology, with the plan to advance beyond ‘amateur’ status. My philosophy of teaching is to first understand the Bible like the first recipients did, then ask the question “so what?” If the class doesn’t become more formed in the likeness of Christ, then we have missed the goal.
