Going Deeper is designed for use with your small group, a friend or on you own. Its aim is to create time for you to spend with God and his word. Do as much or as little as you like. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact one of our pastoral staff.

1. Pray for the needs of your Life Group, for our church and our leaders, for personal and corporate renewal, and to allow God’s word to transform us.

2. This Sunday, the message in the Embracing God’s Grace series focused on Restoring Grace. What thoughts or questions did the service raise for you? Which thoughts or points encouraged you or posed a challenge to you?

3. Share a personal account of a time of your personal restoration to God after a time of distance. What was God’s part and what was your part in that restoration?

4. ReadMark 14:27-72 out loud. Discuss how such denial of Christ is possible, how it continues to happen on the part of his people, and whether you believe it is possible to live for Christ without ever denying him. What is the basis for this belief?

5. Read John 21:1-17 out loud. List the steps of Peter’s restoration. Who initiates the restoration? What do you see in Peter’s response that you’d like to incorporate into your response to God?

6. Read Rom, 8:1, Titus 3:5, and Psalm 103:9-13, Jere 31:31-33 and 1 Cor 11:25 out loud.What do these verses tell you about the basis for God’s relationship to us? In light of this discussion, how do you wish to proceed in your relationship with Christ? Are you currently distant or are you close to Him? Is there an invitation to a response that you sense?

7. Take a moment of silence as you consider how God is speaking to you. Do you sense an invitation to something new? What concrete steps of response do you want to take? How can your group support you in these steps?
