Part 2

A Classic Book and now movie that tells a true story about a great man named D'Artagnan who desires to be with the greatest Musketeers, Athos, Porthos and Aramis. The setting set in mid- 1800’s France around the time of the French Revolution. The theme of it is about how they foil a plot by foreign invaders who desire to overthrow the King.

The Bible describes THREE great “leaders” in each of our lives whose job is to keep us safe from the enemy’s plots. These three are found in First Corinthians 13:13

Put in order then, Love being the greatest, Hope next and Faith last. Like Athos, Porthos and Aramis, these three always work together even though they have very unique characteristics.
Today we will talk about Biblical hope.

We will answer these questions:
- What is the Biblical definition of hope?
- Why is it important?
- How does it work?

Hope that is ALIVE!

The Greek NT translates this word “HOPE” as anticipation with pleasure.
If Biblical hope does NOT lead to disappointment, then what kind of hope does? Human hope- Better known as wishing.

- Human hope is ____________________
- Human hope is ______________________________________
- Human hope puts its confidence ____________________________
- Human hope generally ___________________________

“LIFE,” (naturally speaking) HAS TRAINED US TO “NOT GET OUR HOPES UP.”

What is Biblical Hope?

Some have defined it as cheerful, confident expectation.

The best illustration I’ve heard to describe Biblical hope:
“Hope is the BLUEPRINT of your faith.”

Biblical HOPE is the image (blueprint) of the real and Biblical faith begins to build according to that very image until the thing desired is done.
