This week we will be jumping back into Gods perfect love for us. We are specifically going to look at the proper, or indeed ONLY way to truly experience Gods perfect love for us. While it is true that we are all on the receiving end of God’s love, it is entirely possible to never truly experience it. Crazy huh? So what is the key? How do we make use of this wondrous gift? How can we be the recipients of such amazing love and never truly experience it? One simple word. Surrender. Have you ever truly surrendered to God? In fact have you ever truly surrendered to anything? Easier said than done right? It goes against our very nature to surrender to anything. The word surrender usually comes with a negative connotation. It put's in our minds a picture of defeat. Ironically the only way to win is to surrender to Gods love for you.

This week as we contemplate Casey's sermon let's look at what surrendering to Gods love looks like. Try to remove fear and doubt from yourself and look at what these scriptures teach us. Challenge any false narratives you may have or have been taught. Even when we surrender to God it is all too easy to “de-surrender” again! Remember that faith, true faith, can only come as a result of trust. And trust is the key to surrender. Do we trust that God has our best interests in mind? Or are we afraid He will let us down? My prayer for us this week is that we truly surrender to Gods love for us! I will be praying for us all.

● Spend some time with God focusing on His love for you, and how you can surrender to it.

● How does our fear interfere with Gods perfect love for us?
● Does fear of judgment hold you back from surrender?
● Remember that all your judgment has fallen on Jesus, His love covers a multitude of sins.

● Do you think He is angry? Or can you hear love in His voice?
● Is it easier to surrender to God with the knowledge that He can do anything?
● Do you see the disciples here beginning to truly trust Jesus?

● Here we see that even in impossible circumstances Jesus asks us to be unafraid.
● What kind of faith is required of us to believe in these circumstances?
● How can such faith be achieved?
● Surrender is the key, surrender to Gods love, power, wisdom, authority.

● How much faith did Peter have when He got out of the boat?
● What caused his faith to falter?
● How easy is it to let fear rule over us?
● How can we remove fear and doubt?
● What do you think would have happened if Peter never took his eyes off Jesus?

● What does Paul rejoice over here?
● Does true surrender as pictured here frighten you?
● If so, why?
● Have you spent enough time with Jesus to get a sense of His love for you?
● Have you failed enough on your own to give Jesus a chance at ruling your life?
