In and through Jesus Christ a new world has dawned and an entirely new life is available. This new world is the Kingdom of Heaven. It is available to me and you because of the life Jesus lived, the death Jesus died and the resurrection Jesus experienced through the power of God the Father.
Our great responsibility and unimaginable opportunity, is to Surrender to Jesus and begin living life with God in community with others, right here and right now.
What, then, does it mean to surrender to Jesus?

What is Surrender?
Surrendering to Jesus is choosing Jesus way of living life over our own BECAUSE we trust His Love for us is absolutely perfect.

Surrender to Jesus always leads to obedience to Jesus but obedience does not necessarily indicate surrender. External obedience is compliance not surrender.
The Problem with Surrender:
At the heart of our battle to surrender is the problem of fear.
At the heart of our battle to surrender is the problem of fear.
Fear of surrendering to God comes from a lack of confidence that God actually can or will secure our good.
All of our experiences with love, in our relationships with people, are all based on imperfect love.
- Jesus’ explanation of the source of our fearful distrust.
We can see the disciples here beginning to trust perfect love to some degree. They do choose to go to Jesus after all.
In the face of what appears to be the realization of this man’s worst fears Jesus says these “crazy” words to him: “Do not be afraid, only believe.” Mark 5:36
Jesus takes Jairus, his wife and the disciples right up to the lifeless little 12 year old girl’s body and says Talitha koum which meant Little girl, I say to you, get up! Immediately the little girls stood up… and Perfect Love won again.
When Perfect Love comes, it throws open wide the doors to the Kingdom of Heaven and welcomes anyone who would trust and rely on Jesus to come right in.
Surrender to Perfect Love means we give up life on our own terms and become willing to receive and enter into the Life God has for us.
The question is, will you surrender your life to Perfect Love?
As you look at Perfect Love ask yourself, “Do I want that?”
