Vision Painting Background
The vision described for this painting was Pastor Greg holding the keys to the city, standing on stage with a river flowing out to where the lobby is. People gathered on the edge of the river and the river flowed out to the city of Tampa.
From there, I went about bringing the vision to life by praying over the artwork and that I would bring glory to God through the art. I chose vibrant oranges and strong aqua blues as the main colors in the painting. These complimentary colors brought a sense of energy and excitement. It is an exciting journey as we work as part of the Kingdom of God. I added deep purples throughout the piece to add a sense of peace and calm and noble purpose. Throughout the excitement there is steadfastness and constant direction.
This purple and cool blues show that we are not tossed to and fro by the wind but like a river are moving with the Spirit of God. This is maybe too artistically detailed, but even in the placement of the hand, it is painted firm and solid but not clenching the keys in rage.
The hand is holding the keys with firm solidity, planted in the vision. The rays of light as well as the river's edge point to a focal point behind the city, again describing the laser sharp focus of the calling and vision of The Crossing Church as we are called to transform our city in the power and love of Jesus Christ.
