Do you trust Jesus to Love you…no matter what?
Perfect Love never fails to be or do what is absolutely and perfectly good. Never.
“Apart from the ever-creative outflow of God’s love there would be nothing but darkness, void and nonbeing.” David Benner
Because we are created by love and for love, Perfect Love is our deepest need.
The critical next step toward being transformed by Love into Love is Surrender.
We have just taken the first step that leads to surrender– We moved in close and got a clear view of Perfect Love.
Jesus (Perfect Love in Person) already Loves you
The word for believe or rely on means to have faith in or to entrust yourself to someone or something. This is the step of surrender.
The great challenge we have today is not to intellectually grasp Perfect Love but to allow Perfect Love to grasp us as we are.
We can do this – learn to do life with God together – and be confident that there’s no better life to live because Perfect Love never fails.
Growing & Going Exercise:
Find a time and place to be alone for a few minutes, undisturbed. Imagine sitting with Jesus right there wherever you are. Picture, in your mind’s eye, where He would sit. This is not merely an exercise in the realm of imagination; you are actually trying to envision a very literal reality – that Jesus is present. His words of promise to all of His disciples are the very last words in Matthews Gospel. Jesus said, I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:20). This is about attending to and experiencing that reality.
As you envision Jesus being present with you, you may have a variety feelings or thoughts that come to you. Those feelings and thoughts depend on how you envision or think about how He is with you. Do your best to embed this truth in your thoughts as you sit in the Presence of Jesus: Jesus is Perfect Love. If it helps, remind yourself what Perfect Love never does and what Perfect Love Always does. Let yourself hear Jesus saying these words to you. I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. Take in andexperience being loved by Jesus like this. Remember, this is not a head game or some kind of imagination therapy. You are engaging a reality that is constant and as real as the air you are breathing.
